I plunged, I auged, now I'll reckon I'll rent a snake20 Apr 2008 14:08 GMT43
I posted here yesterday about a toilet in my house that has recently
turned into a lazy flusher (upon flushing the water spins a bit, then
stops and then the water level drops, but it's not flushing like it
did even a week ago).  Someone here suggested getting an auger and I
Knobs for Kitchenaid cooktop20 Apr 2008 05:55 GMT9
A Kitchenaid (Hobart) gas cooktop needs 4 replacement knobs but seems like
the originals are NLA.  I'm sure all kinds of knobs would work but I'd like
to find the closest replacement or whatever the mfg recommends.
It's model KGCS1340, 4 burners (no griddle), knobs on top.
Ice Maker Questions20 Apr 2008 05:52 GMT8
Greetings!  We have an Amana side-by-side, model SQD26VW.
* The water "tray" isn't filling with water so the ice can't be made.  I
checked the supply hose that leads into the tray and it doesn't appear to be
frozen.  The little plastic blades appear to rotate from time-to-time even
Well Water Problem20 Apr 2008 05:43 GMT12
I just noticed that my washer was taking hours to fill. I cleaned the
filter on the back and it was clogged with mud looking stuff. I then
noticed that after flushing the toilet that the same particles where
in that water as well. Not real thick but you could see them sitting
Charts for wire nuts and the combinations of wires that can go in each color?20 Apr 2008 05:14 GMT7
Does anyone know of a chart with a COMPREHENSIVE listing of the combinations
of wire sizes that can go in each color of wire nut?
I've done a google search but didn't find any such charts amoung the myriad
results.
Wndow A/C Cycles Too Often20 Apr 2008 04:50 GMT4
The outside temp is 54, A/C in shade. Nice spring day,
no excessive moisture.
Trying to cool down my house, the A/C cycles roughly every
5 minutes. Actually I seem to remember that this is normal with such a
motion sensor switch20 Apr 2008 02:25 GMT7
i have a couple single pole switches for which i'd like to have a motion
sensor switch instead. the current switches have two wires connected: a hot
coming into the bottom and then the switched hot going out of the top to the
light bulb. when i looked around at the motion sensing ...
Stretching a carpet in double-wide20 Apr 2008 02:25 GMT1
Our double-wide, used as a cabin is now three years old and the cheezy
carpet is ocean-like with waves.  I looked around and soon realized taht the
carpet was laid as a whole, half-house piece so the stud walls sit directly
on the carpet.  So, I don't have nailing strips at those ...

Beware Allstate20 Apr 2008 01:31 GMT19
Beware Allstate.  My house was built in 1993 and met all building
codes at that time.  Now I have wind damage and they will not cover
damage because the roof is not up to current code.  We are simply
talking about the nailing strip on a single and its relationship with
Sump pump on every 2-3 minutes. No water outside?20 Apr 2008 01:01 GMT11
It keeps kicking on every few minutes. This has been going on for weeks. I
know their is a spring thaw. But, there can't be that much water in the
ground can there? The water is coming in through one of the cast iron pipes
in the pit . There are 2 of the pipes in the pit opposite ...
Maple roots and water meters20 Apr 2008 00:48 GMT2
I seem to have a maple whose roots are getting close to the water
meter. Because of the clay in the area and possibly the fact the I use a
sprinkler system. the roots are on the top of the ground.
Should I be worried about the roots messing up the meter or the

$1900 and the roofer wants to install it over the rolled roofing,is
this a good idea and should I have a contract with this roofer stating

Where to buy electrical supplies19 Apr 2008 19:20 GMT18
I'm finishing my basement, and I'm about to do the electrical rough-in
work.  Are places like Home Depot and Lowes a rip off when it come to
buying things like romex wire, outlets, and lighting fixtures?  Should
I head to a specialized electrical supply store instead?
