Skylight dome repair?21 Apr 2008 23:16 GMT12
I have about a 8' x 4' skylight with opaque white plastic dome.  It has 3
cracks radiating out to about 1'.  its intact, just cracked.  Probably the
wind blew a pine cone into it.
How can I go about repairing it?  The dome is not viewed from inside the
Chimney Fire Extinguisher Sticks21 Apr 2008 23:11 GMT3
Another thread reminded me...
When Dad got the wood stove a little too hot one time, he set the
chimney on fire. He had this thing that looked like a road flare that
he lit off and threw into the stove to put out the fire.
Acid mix for etching concrete21 Apr 2008 22:00 GMT2
My concrete walkway is slightly discolored in a 4'x6' area. It was that way
when I bought the house 15 years ago. Don't know what may have caused it
originally. The white spots are burn marks from burning seeds that came off
a burning palm tree.
Problem replacing old deep well submersible pump21 Apr 2008 22:00 GMT4
I am replacing my submersible pump and the top of the pump is
connected to a black flexible pipe with a brass adapter.  The adapter
uses a threaded connection to connect to the pump and male connection
is made to the inside of the black flexible pipe.  Two ring clamps
What Tool to Use For Vinyl Window Pane Removal21 Apr 2008 21:52 GMT8
I have several pieces of glass I need to replace in some double hung,
double pane vinyl windows. Each pane has four vinyl strips which holds
the pane in place. I use a painters tool to  remove these strips with
no problem. The other side of the pane is caulked (with silicon) which
Paint Pumps21 Apr 2008 21:02 GMT3
I posted this before but didn't get a "serious" response.
Anyway, the "new thing" in spray painting seems to be airless high pressure
painting using a positive displacement (piston) pump.    The equipment can
be had for from $100 (Big Lots) to $500 or so depending upon quality,
cracked grout question21 Apr 2008 19:49 GMT6
About 4 months ago I had my bathroom remodeled and there is now
cracking along some of the grout joints.  To be more specific, the
grout is not crumbling or anything, it's just separated from the tile
on one side.
Rusty plier21 Apr 2008 18:40 GMT10
I got a plier that is rusted solid, how to break it free?
not your typical paint stripper question... please read21 Apr 2008 17:31 GMT11
I have a project actually requiring the reuse of paint AFTER it has been
stripped with a chemical stripper.  The problem I have is that I don't know
how to redissolve the resulting sludge and chips that the stripper produces
back into as close to the original paint as possible.  ...
Do I need a switch for my porch light?21 Apr 2008 16:37 GMT7
I am installing a porch light. It will be fed directly from a garage outlet.
I will run 14/3 Romex inside the wall. I do not intend to use a switch
because I will use a "dusk to dawn" automatic switch to turn the light on
and off.
The Electrician's Credo, part XXXIV21 Apr 2008 15:17 GMT11
I swear, there must be a vow that all licensed electricians take before
setting out to work on their own. I believe it could be summed up thus:
XXXIV. Thou shalt never affix identifying labels to any
          household breaker panels.
toilet running21 Apr 2008 14:58 GMT11
After flushing the toilet, it tends to continue to run.  When it is flushed,
the flapper is pulled up which allows the water to escape from the tank,
while at the same time the float falls which opens the valve to fill the
tank with water.  All is well to this point.
