toilet bowl water level question23 Feb 2008 16:46 GMT8
Recently I've noticed that about 20-30 minutes after flushing, the water
level in the toilet bowl drops about a half an inch and will maintain its
newly reduced level.  There is no leak from the tank, and no more is
entering the bowl.  I'm on the 2nd floor directly above another ...
Covering laminate floor in kitchen23 Feb 2008 13:40 GMT3
The size is 12' x 6' and i just don't like the look of laminated floor
in the kitchen. A HAndyman recommended that I cover it with self
sticking vinyl by Armstrong for budget reasons. He said the floor is
solid, so all I need is  to cover it myself. he refused to take the
Window replacement question23 Feb 2008 04:14 GMT4
I'm 8-12 months away from replacing some windows. But in the meantime, I
need to replace the window coverings in one room. Whatever style I get,
they'll be mounted to the wall outside of the molding. "Pocket replacement"
is the way I'll go with these windows. For purposes of ...

My heating system has one Taco cartridge circulator 007-F5 and the
Why is oil coming out of snow blower tube?23 Feb 2008 03:16 GMT2
I have an Ariens snow blower that has oil dripping out of the rubber
breather tube.  I believe that that is what the purpose is for - let
oil out.  But it seems to be a significant amount.  Any idea what
would cause this?  Oddly enough I checked the oil level and it is

garage shelf project article???23 Feb 2008 02:19 GMT4
I am having a hard time trying to remember where I saw a project
involving garage storage.  The main thing I remember about the
project
was that the shelf supports consisted of two boards (2x4 perhaps)
MagicJack23 Feb 2008 02:04 GMT6
Ok everyone.  Now that the hype has started, partially due to
infomercials, let me tell you the horror of MagicJack.  I just
installed mine on a Gateway with Windows XP and because I had
musicmatch it would not load.  After 3 yes 3 hours typing with a tech
replacing vinyl kitchen flooring23 Feb 2008 00:55 GMT8
I want to replace my vinyl flooring in my kitchen. It is one sheet of
rolled out vinyl, not tile. however, it was installed before the
cabinets were put in place.
Would I have to take out the cabinets, stove, etc, and take up the old
Satellite Pieces Falling in my Yard23 Feb 2008 00:25 GMT30
I have Satellite Pieces Falling in my Yard.  One smashed a window in
my house after ripping off my rain gutter.  Another put a large dent
in the roof of my car.  I think there's one stuck in my roof too.
They did not say the pieces would damage our property after they blew
Wire for smoke alarms?22 Feb 2008 23:56 GMT42
I am in the middle of the whole house remodeling and my electrician
who is doing wiring for me told me I should have him wire for smoke
alarms for all the rooms while he is at it.
Is this worth the effort?  I was planning on just using battery
Exterior paint on interior?22 Feb 2008 20:46 GMT21
I want to paint the interior walls of my garage.
The garage is under the house, has concrete block about half way up, and
the rest is drywalled. Originally, the builder rolled/sprayed on a thin
coat of mix, and dragged a roller through it.
replace sill plate in basement22 Feb 2008 19:09 GMT16
Darn termites!
I need to replace 40' of sill plate from the 7' basement of a two-
story house.  Replacing it from the outside is out of the question
because of brick veneer and a solid-pour concrete porch.
Plastic Dome Doghouse -- Leaky22 Feb 2008 17:53 GMT17
Has anyone ever figured out how these dome doghouses leak? Maybe
condensation? They are worthless.
GE Disposall hums, doesn't budge22 Feb 2008 13:14 GMT11
My GE Disposall hums but the spinning part doesn't budge.
I can't see any junk in there that would stop the spinning.
I couldn't get it going with a broomstick -- the broomstick can't even
rotate the thing either.
