Question about laying laminate in doorway24 Feb 2008 03:22 GMT2
I've been laying some laminate and got to a doorway and got stuck
thinking about what I should do with the little difficulty that I've
encountered.  I cut the doorjambs with a flush cut saw just like they
show and is common knowlege to be a thing that you have to do.  I also
Windows painted shut24 Feb 2008 01:53 GMT7
Some old second story windows are painted shut.   I was told I
should think about new windows, which WILL happen, but not for a year or
so.     But, until then, I want to get these old windows open again, if
only for safety sake, and for summertime ventilation.
Urethane glue shelf life24 Feb 2008 01:28 GMT7
I had bought a small bottle of Sumo, urethane glue about 8 months ago and
found a project for it today.  I was shocked when I found the bottle to be
firm and, when I opened it the glue was more firm than usual.  I got what I
needed and pitched the rest.  That was a pretty ...

The size is 12' x 6' and i just don't like the look of laminated floor

Upstairs Radiator chirping every 1-2 minutes23 Feb 2008 21:18 GMT3
I recently was without heat, my inspection (very amateur) of the
boiler led me to believe we had a frozen water paper somewhere.
My house has two zones, upstairs and downstairs.  Both set to auto,
once I set to manual the heat began working and appears to still be
"French Drain" at Menard's23 Feb 2008 21:05 GMT5
I was at Menard's the other day and saw that they were selling this
pvc basement drain system.  I forget who makes it, but I do remember
it was somewhat costly.  It appeared to be a little "gutter" that you
would install around the perimeter of the basement floor.  If the wall
Venting a pellet stove to a coal fireplace23 Feb 2008 20:31 GMT1
The problem is that a coal fireplace necks down into a slit right
above the firebox. So I have a space 18 long and 0.75 inch tall.
Needless to say, the 4" proper vent pipe isn't going to fit...
Any suggestions?
Plumbing Question23 Feb 2008 20:29 GMT10
I think I know the answer to this query, but I'd feel remiss if I didn't at

There is a brown water stain on the ceiling of the room below  from a leak
in the bathroom above.

Removing Snow From Driveway - Best Long Term Solution?23 Feb 2008 17:23 GMT90
We have a gravel driveway, roughly 150 feet long. It's about 12 feet
wide, except for a 20x30 area in front of the garage where we park and
turn around. It has a few curves, and slopes up towards the county road.
The county keeps the main road plowed, but just getting out of our ...
