shallow well pump sounds like its on but not popping up heads27 Feb 2008 12:32 GMT2
The pump sounds like it is running.  My dad took the pump in and had it
checked out and nothing was wrong with it.  We ran new pipe with a new check
valve on top of the other one.  We did a bucket test to see if the pump was
popping heads up and it did.  What do we need to check ...
whirlpool tub grounding question.27 Feb 2008 06:05 GMT5
I am installing a new whirlpool bathtub at my girlfriends place and
was checking things out. The electrical is gfi'd in the panel and has
a dedicated 20 amp circuit feeding it - so far so good.
In addition, the old tub had a big ground wire run from the water
Suggestions for a log run kitchen exhaust27 Feb 2008 05:14 GMT30
I'm finishing up my basement bar that includes a range with a grill.
These beasts tend to generate some smoke, so a vented exhaust is a
must.  I've got a nice, beefy blower, but I'm concerned that the 20'
duct that will be installed above the suspended ceiling will leak
The Terrorists are Coming to Home Depot27 Feb 2008 04:27 GMT5
The next time you go to Home Depot, BEWARE.
They could have terrorists working behind the counter.
If you see a raghead (a guy with a rag wrapped around his head), leave
the store immediately, call the police, and go home.  Once at home,

Which to get first ?27 Feb 2008 00:10 GMT22
Wood Stove or Vinyl Flooring ?   I have my basement stripped already and
getting ready for flooring.   Should I get the Wood Stove first since that
usually comes with that concrete layer platform that could be put
underneath.  Or is the proper route to get the flooring done first ...
Toilet install27 Feb 2008 00:02 GMT18
Soon I'll be installing a new toilet in a bath remod I'm doing. I've
read somewhere that the distance from the wall to the center of the
toilet drain should be at least 14"... Is that correct. If so, I'm in
trouble because I only see 12"...

Wilsonart Hi-Definition laminate countertops26 Feb 2008 20:59 GMT9
I think we're going to install this as a compromise between regular
laminate and something like granite for our new counters.  The designs
and colors are beautiful, so I'm curious whether the cohort can offer
any big negatives (besides the known issues with putting hot stuff
Rotary Zip tool26 Feb 2008 20:47 GMT9
Fundamentally, what is the difference between a rotary zip tool and Dremel?
Is it just a bit more power and it has a plastic ring in the front to
control the cutting depth?

One of the circuit in my house has all of a sudden died. It happened

something in the outlet popped with a bright spark. Now the circuit is
down, except when I use a voltage detector it beeps and when I use a

Cable TV Wiring26 Feb 2008 17:55 GMT14
Yesterday I wired a relatives house for cable. The analog cable works
fine, but when I plug in the digital cable box supplied by the cable
company it doesn't work at all. Is there anything special about
splitters for digital cable? I use Dish network, and I've really been
