Mold04 Feb 2008 02:52 GMT4
We lost part of our roof in a recent windstorm.  As a result there was some
water damage to the popcorn ceiling in one room.  It was minimal and
resulted in some small stains to the ceiling.  I want to put a sealer on the
stains and repaint the ceiling.  My wife says no we must ...
Oil build-up on lawn mower engine04 Feb 2008 01:51 GMT1
I have a riding mower that is cleaned once per year. THe mower is about
5 years old. Problem: by the end of each season, there's a build-up of
oil on the lower part of the engine. This oil accumulates dust and
clippings and results in smoking (near the exhaust). Most of the oil

Laminate Flooring: How to install through doorway/closet opening?03 Feb 2008 23:16 GMT8
I'm going to be installing a laminate floor and want to know what I can do
in doorways and closet openings when I do the install. I'll be running the
laminate from one room into the other (and the closet) and I know that I
generally see a "T-Strip" being used in the opening.  My ...

FEMA TRAILERS03 Feb 2008 21:30 GMT8
People are complaining about "toxic FEMA trailers"
They look like regular old camper /rv trailers.
We've got tens of thousands in the southwest.
Does this toxicity apply to all RV's ?
Refurbish Corian counter with DA Sander03 Feb 2008 21:14 GMT4
I have a medium brown Corian counter that is a couple of years old. It is
beginning to show a lot of scratches and general wear. It seems that the
darker colors show scratches and wear much more than lighter colors.  I'd
like to refurbish it without paying someone to do it for me ...

First Maytag washer and dryer lasted forever, new appliances are not
reliable regardless who makes it.
Anyway this 3 years old Maytag washer developed a very loud continuous
rumbling noise whenever the motor is on in any part of the cycle. So noisy
Oil-fired Forced Hot Water System Leaks Water03 Feb 2008 18:59 GMT7
We have an oil furnace that uses forced hot water to heat the home.
The system also provides hot water to the household for showers, etc.
It is a Connecticut home that was built in the early 1960's.  I can
barely afford this home so I've been trying to get every last breath
P trap for a 4" PVC pipe03 Feb 2008 14:05 GMT6
I have a deck drain from my pool area which is enclosed in a screen.  The
drain is a 4" PVC pipe that drains to the outside of the house into a gravel
pit.
I noticed quite a bit of no-see-ums in the screen enclosure area, and this
Poulan help03 Feb 2008 13:42 GMT23
I just purchased a Poulan 10530es snowblower via AMAZON.
Put it together today.  Instructions very simple, just connect 3
control rods, and the hood cables.  Fired right up.  Auger and
impeller works.  No action on the drive wheels. Acts like there is a
reverse osmosis drain backed up-is water safe to drink?03 Feb 2008 04:21 GMT1
I have a reverse osmosis system in my kitchen and a pipe clog has caused
the drain to backup and water to fill halfway up the basin.  When my
wife ran the reverse osmosis tap, water flowed out the air gap hole at
the base of the tap.

Noisy heating pipes from friction03 Feb 2008 02:51 GMT1
The copper pipes in my basement that supply the hot water to the
radiators are noisy.
When the circulation pump fires up and the water in the pipes heat up,
the pipes expand.
Outlet Wire Connections03 Feb 2008 02:50 GMT19
I have a *NON*-GFCI 15A 125V duplex receptacle outlet in the garage.
(It reads 15A 125V on the front of the receptacle.)  I was installing
cabinets along that wall and had to remove the outlet's coverplate and
receptacle so that the cabinet could be installed flush to the wall.
