new faucet with drinking water28 Feb 2008 20:02 GMT1
We want to add a separate line for "drinking water" to the sink. I know most
use a separate faucet. But I saw this new product:

So my current 3-hole sink will work, no need to drill a hole for a separate
Non-reversing washing machine motor28 Feb 2008 16:55 GMT6
My 3-year old Admiral washing machine (made by Maytag)sometimes fails
to drain and spin at the end of the rinse cycle.  It has been doing
this about 10% of the time for the last year.
If I rotate the timer back to the final spin position, it always works

Locking cork over laminate28 Feb 2008 16:24 GMT1
I have a small kitchen area that has laminated flooring. It was
installed correctly, underpavment, foam and locking strips. The floor
is sturdy to say the least. I am considering covering it up with
locking cork flooring. Not sure if cork flooring is good for a kitchen

An investigator from the North Carolina State contractor licensing
board dropped in last week to verify my complaint against VERANDA

two types of fence contractors28 Feb 2008 12:55 GMT1
I'm shopping for contractors to replace a wooden fence.
There are two types of fence contractors: one specializes in building fence,
the other is a general contractor. The fence contractor usually hire a lot
of cheap laborors, use the quickest way to fastern the fence together ...
Framing for a new Room - what hardware to use?28 Feb 2008 12:40 GMT11
Should I use penny nails or screws for framing the lumber?
I am adamant that screws are a stronger, more robust way to frame the
room.
winter blues28 Feb 2008 12:27 GMT3
Like to share with you guys. A lot of snow fell in Chicago this year so I
guess this was bound to happen.
Went out to clear the drive Tuesday and was able to digest the daily
Tribune into the innards of my snow blower.

Where to get old pots tinned28 Feb 2008 02:45 GMT14
We own a number of very old copper pots that we would very much like
to use. However, back when they were made, they used lead in solder. I
have heard (from chefs who use them) that it is safe to use them if
one gets them tinned. Any thoughts on where I could have done? What
Outlet Color28 Feb 2008 02:37 GMT10
Does the color Red signify anything special in a 20 amp 120 V duplex outlet.
Our local Habitat for Humanity Store has a lot of them for sale at a very
good price. Could one use them for replacement outlets if needed or would
that violate some wiring color code?
Opener for a side-sliding garage door?28 Feb 2008 00:39 GMT12
Hi. I'm rebuilding the doors on the back of my garage, and am likely
to put in a barn-style sliding door rather than an overhead door. I've
been looking for an opener that's designed for this kind of door, and
am drawing a blank. Any suggestions? Can I get away with creative use
How many therms (natural gas) do you use per day (per month)?28 Feb 2008 00:23 GMT50
I'm curious how I compare with others in my natural gas usage.
I used 120 therms in the past 30 days (about 4 therms per day).
HOW MANY THERMS DID YOU USE LAST MONTH?
I do realize that there are _many_ factors that affect usage but there is
