Brown water from outside hydrant?15 Feb 2008 13:50 GMT4
This fall we finished up a shop that is about 200 feet away from our
house, a slight down grade.  We also tapped the main water line (from
our well) and T-d it off to install an outside freezeless water hydrant
by the shop.  It is about 75 feet from where it was t'd to the ...
Scott Fiore has a question hard water spots15 Feb 2008 06:48 GMT6
We just moved into a new home.  I don't think the previous owners ever
cleaned the glass shower doors.  Our shower doors seems to be etched
with hard water stains. Nothing I have tried will remove them. Even
CLR does not remove them. Any suggestions?  Thanks!
BirdsMouth Cut in Rafter15 Feb 2008 03:33 GMT6
I am cutting rafters for a shed roof.  The rafters will be 16o.c 2x6.
The rise is 3:12 (or 3 inches for each 12 inchs of run)
My question concerns the birdsmouth cut.  If I cut a 1 and 1/2 inch
heel cut and a 3 and 1/2 inch seat cut, I am in compliance with the

I bought an 8-yr old house 2 1/2 years ago that has a well and a sump pump

Yesterday we had a 4-hour power outage.  After about 3 hours, just before

My house was built in '72 (3 br, 2 1/2 bath).  The original owner
added a 2 story addition (top part was addition to the master
bedroom).  Unfortunately, he didn't put in a new furnace to take care
of the extra sq. footage.  When we bought the house in '04, we put in

Sears stackable washer - wash cycle is dead14 Feb 2008 19:20 GMT2
We hauled out my old stackabe/portable Sears washer, model C1102250081 when

load and nothing... no water, no noise.  My husband played around with it,
and found that the wash cycle (or rather all 4 wash ...

Peat Humus14 Feb 2008 14:20 GMT3

your garden?

Stock tank repair - Need washer or????14 Feb 2008 02:43 GMT10
One of my metal stock tanks sprung a leak, and of course it's near the
bottom.  Normally in warm weather I'll empty it, clean the spot and
use JbWeld.  If the hole is over 1/16" I usually use the jbweld and
glue in a short machine screw (not a sheet metal screw that animals
Toilet doesn't flush right14 Feb 2008 02:32 GMT17
While flushing the toilet earlier this evening, I think 2 other people in
the house turned on the water, which messed up my toilet's flush.  The
water went down a lot of slowly than usual.
Now I just tried flushing it, and the water went up near the top of the
Staining veneer interior doors14 Feb 2008 00:32 GMT4
I've bought two unfinished oak veneer interior doors (Jeld-Wen).
Neither stained well; splotches around the rail/stile glue lines with

Is there something to clean these doors with prior to staining? I
