hot water boiler not circulating30 Dec 2007 00:30 GMT11
OK, so I replaced the pressure release valve and maybe I broke the
pump in the process. I have a Lochinvar hot water boiler with a B&G
pump heating radiators.
Initially water was leaking out of the pressure release valve.
Should I empty the bathtub?29 Dec 2007 23:49 GMT20
I live in upstate NY and my house is heated with a furnace. The air in
my house is slightly on the dry side during the winter. When someone
takes a hot bath in the house should the hot water be left in the tub
till it cools down? It seems that if it were then it would contribute
how to redo stained and painted garage floor?29 Dec 2007 23:48 GMT16
I have a client who wants to refinish his garage floor. He previously put
down a gray stain. That started peeling after a few years, so he put a
two-part epoxy on top. I'm assuming he followed the directions. He most
likely did.
Oil filled radiator gives off odor29 Dec 2007 19:58 GMT5
I've got a Delonghi oil filled radiator that's about six years old.  It has
no visible leaks, but when hot it gives off an odor.  It's subtle, but not
pleasant and just strong enough to make us want to get rid of it.  Does
anyone know if this is typical?  Repairable?

I wanna fix couple things at home (seems like it's a never ending
saga)
1) I have a cooktop   (as oppose to gas range) which works decent but
it's old and paint is coming off and has plenty of stain. I don't want

Ideas for leaking metal roof- lap joint29 Dec 2007 16:32 GMT3
Long story short- roof is 65 feet across, 45 feet down the slope, very
shallow slope (perhaps too shallow), the lap joint that runs
horizontally across was done wrong years ago.
Previous owner's contractor ran the sealing tape above the screws
WHAT IS ISLAM?29 Dec 2007 15:47 GMT11
WHAT IS ISLAM?
Can we find an explanation of the great universe? Is there any
convincing interpretation of the secret of existence? We realize that
no family can function properly without a responsible head, that no
Removing grafitti from brownstone29 Dec 2007 15:01 GMT9
Someone was nice enough to give me a late Christmas present by writing some
grafitti on the front of my house.  Short of using a power washer (which I
don't have), what is the best way to remove it from brownstone/masonry
material?
Install Wood Floors Before or After Kitch Cabinets?29 Dec 2007 11:42 GMT25
As part of my kitchen remodeling, I am having an installer (not me!)
put in hardwood flooring.  Its the same boards that run in the hall
and dining room.
To avoid dinging and scratching the floor, I had always thought of
'Boosting a' 110 V Electric grill - idea?29 Dec 2007 04:58 GMT24
My Sunbeam 110 V electric grill works OK but it glows only faintly red
and it takes a while to grill a steak.
My clamp-on meter shows 12.2 Amps.
I imagine this mod:
Heat Pump Operation29 Dec 2007 02:58 GMT15
My house has a Rheem heat pump, installed in 1991 Model
#RPND-042C, with "Heater Kit RXPJ," according to its
nameplate. Temperatures are about 35-40 degrees F this time
of year where I am.

dead odor in heating ducts29 Dec 2007 01:26 GMT7
A few days ago I started to smell an odor coming out of heating ducts --
from all vents. This reminds me of rotten chicken.
If some animal did die in the heating ducts, how do you find and get rid of
it?
Inaccurate reading on spa topside control28 Dec 2007 23:12 GMT10
My spa is a 2002 Regency Spas, made by National Equipment Mfg. Corp.
The circuitboard system has no mfr. name anywhere.  There are both a
knob thermostat control on the box at the heater and a topside
pushbutton control at tubside.  The heater is electric Vulcan style
