Pfister Pfaucets/water filters04 Dec 2007 16:29 GMT2
I contacted Pfister a month or two ago because my one handled kitchen faucet
would droop down while on and the water would shut off.  They sent me
another set of guts, and it worked for a while.  Now, it's getting hard to
work and makes a creaking sound.  It also flexes a lot on ...
Shop organizing... (pegboard)?04 Dec 2007 16:00 GMT15
I want to reorganize my shop this winter and I keep coming back to
using pegboard.  Mostly because it's a standard that has been around
since the 1950's so it is very non-proprietary, IOW I'm not locked
into clip hangars made by one manufacturer and there is a lot of
Heat Pump odd sound04 Dec 2007 15:09 GMT2
When ever the heat pump goes into and out of the defrost cycle the
evaporator inside makes a kind of  horn or as i seen someone else say
a moose call sound. Seems to be working ok. But i had a problem were
they replaced the dryer and the service man said the sound was normal
Offset Toilet Floor Flange - Slab04 Dec 2007 14:28 GMT6
Trying to replace a toilet. I bought the new Champion by American
Standard, we had 2 at the last house. When trying to mount it the left
bolt through the flange was at an angle, it's back a little too far.
No I can't adjust it, that's as far as it will slide due to the way
Smoke Detector ?04 Dec 2007 14:25 GMT5
I recently removed a smoke detector to patch a hole and paint the
small area that needed painting.  When I reinstalled the detector (120
VAC, battery backup) it started chirping.  I opened the battery
compartment to find no battery.  I have been in this house since March

Hobart Toaster Wiring Diagram Needed04 Dec 2007 08:59 GMT2
Hi. I have a Hobart ET27-4 commercial grade 4-slice toaster. It is a
208/240 volt model. The only way I can get it to toast anything in any
of the 4 slots is to push both levers down. I should be able to toast
2 slices at once, im pretty sure. Im thinking it is just wired wrong
Switch plate not flush to wall04 Dec 2007 06:28 GMT10
I have an wall switch that sticks out about 1/8" at one corner.  The wall
the switch is in is very thin and I think the box is probably too long.  I
want to find a deep switch plate to compensate.  Any suggestions?

Furnace humidifier motor04 Dec 2007 03:16 GMT10
I just purchased a house which has a Sears 3000 furnace mounted
humidifier. It's mounted to the supply side with the controls on the
return side. There is a motor driving a drum with a foam pad. When I
pulled it apart the foam pad and reservoir was full of mineralization.
What size nut is on septic clean outs?  (4" pipe)04 Dec 2007 03:06 GMT13
I cannot bust this cleanout cap free to save my life and I'm afraid
that I'm going to strip it with my adjustable wrench or pipe wrench.
Some are square but some are not - this one is not.  I'm thinking it's
1 5/16"  My biggest socket is 1 1/4 and its a no go.
Garbage Disposal Problem04 Dec 2007 03:05 GMT5
Have an in the sink garbage disposal.
Will not turn when power is applied, but does make a "buzzing noise", so the
circuit breaker apparently
is not the problem.
Leaking Faucet Puzzle04 Dec 2007 03:00 GMT2
This evening for a couple of hours my house had a major drop in water
pressure while the water department fixed a pipe down the block.
Strangely, a bathroom faucet on the first floor started leaking hot water
-- a slow stream, more than a drip but not a ton of water.  The ...
I can't believe that actually worked!04 Dec 2007 02:58 GMT1
Tried one last thing before going to buy some new valves for my kitchen
sink... actually probably would have anyway had I not been stuck at a
job site until after 7PM.  Anyway, the hot water shutoff valve to the
sink was weeping, so last night I tried one last thing before ...
fridge not defrosting04 Dec 2007 02:56 GMT5
I have a Jennair side-by-side fridge (Model 2388ATB ). It is just not
defrosting at all. I am doing that old fashion way by defrosting it
once every 2 months.
What parts may be at fault most likely?  Give me some clue to work on.
