Save desilvering mirror edges?10 Dec 2007 21:17 GMT7
I have a large wall mirror in our bathroom, secured with the usual
clips. In places the bottom has desilvering or blackening about 1.5
inches up from the edge.
I intend to cover the edges with wood framing to hide the bad spots,
Did I Fix My Furnace?????10 Dec 2007 21:01 GMT16
My new house has a 6 month old Goodman 92% HE furnace. A couple of days ago,
it began cycling in an odd way. It would begin with the normal warmup phase
(whatever that is), go to the next stage where it's actually blowing heat
through the ducts, but afterward, the smaller warmup ...
home furnace: 1 of 4 gas jets seldom lights. Bad valve?10 Dec 2007 18:44 GMT3
Old Carrier with 700-061 type valve, intermittent pilot, four
burners - the last on on the manifold seldom lights. If you blow
toward it, it lights and the flame looks normal. Low pressure? Bad
valve?
White, Black, Green, Blue and RED lighting wire ?10 Dec 2007 17:28 GMT4
Greetings, Handymen.
I'm putting up a ceiling fan with light.
In incarnation A, it works great, wherein white goes with white, green
is grounded, and blue AND black (from the fan) go with the black
Hanging cabinets 24" OC studs10 Dec 2007 16:34 GMT7
Hiya Folks,
I'm in the process of hanging cabinets in my laundry room.  I've discovered
the studs are 24" OC (not real happy bout this) which means there will be a
couple of cabinets that only hit one stud.    As this is my first attempt at
Mixing epoxy10 Dec 2007 16:21 GMT8
OK,
I'm sure I'm not the first guy to think of this, but today was the first
time I've thought of it. Needed to mix a bit of epoxy, and wondering
what to use *this* time. Found what will become my standard: the bottom
Sagging Wood Floors...HELP!10 Dec 2007 14:24 GMT7
I've got an old (1958) wood frame home that was built on a hillside, and
the floor is sagging in the middle of the house. There's a rather large
crawl space under the house( floor), about 7 feet of space in the
slopping area. You can see where other owners had put timbers (4"x4") on
Who is Jesus?10 Dec 2007 10:48 GMT14
Who is Jesus?
Without a doubt, you have often heard the claim that Jesus is God, the
second person in the "Holy trinity." However, the very Bible which is
used as a basis for knowledge about Jesus and as the basis for
flashing for masonry + roof tile10 Dec 2007 06:07 GMT6
Have seen this flashing , but don't know name or needed size, so it's kind
of hard to buy or research on the net <g>.  Where used: 1 story gable end of
roof connects to 2 story wall. (head wall?)  IIRC, the flashing sort of
looks like a upper case L, including the little turn-up lip ...
40s-50s style kitchen trim10 Dec 2007 05:50 GMT7
anyone know a source for that bright (stainless?) trim that was used
around the edges of Formica countertops back in the day?  Am thinking of
brightening up my kitchen and that would be just the ticket I think.
Would look "about right" in the house if I painted all the (ugly)
Intermittent Leak From Bathtub10 Dec 2007 03:55 GMT6
After replacing the hot, cold and diverter valves, seats, and washers
without fixing the problem, I opened the wall behind my tub.  I think
water may be coming from the overflow cover.  I removed the two screws
that hold the cover, pryed out the old gasket and went behind the tub
f.cking don't value the significances indirectly, commence them alike.10 Dec 2007 03:11 GMT2
like any other mental technique. It is learned by the
majority of Party members, and certainly by all who are intelligent as well
as orthodox. In Oldspeak it is called, quite frankly, 'reality control'. In
Newspeak  it is  called doublethink, though doublethink comprises much else

Jeld Wen bifold door- cut down?10 Dec 2007 01:54 GMT5
Can I cut off 1 inch from top and bottom of door panels to make it fit
existing opening (i guess the builder must have done this when the
house was built) ?  Is the top wood rail of the door wide enough to
give up 1 inch and still hold the pins?     thks bill
