I went to a metal shop today to see what sort of gizmo they might have to hold a handle on my car door. This handle closes the door from the inside and all it was held on by was a sheet metal screw into a piece of very thin tin. What was originally a #8 screw grew to be a 5/16

| subpanel location and spacing requirements | 14 Dec 2007 01:40 GMT | 2 |
I want to install an electrical subpanel in a 2nd floor room, but am a bit confused as to the location requirements. I would ideally like to place the panel behind a door (e.g. a door opens into the room and when open would be in front of the best panel location). This would

| Heat - when to set back | 13 Dec 2007 21:53 GMT | 21 |
I have a small log home. The logs are efficient insulators plus they act as a heat sink. My heat is baseboard hot water and I have two thermostats controlled by a homemade switcher. The "day" thermostat is set to 65° and the night one is 57°. This does save some oil. My

| Sewage ejector pump for cabana? | 13 Dec 2007 20:39 GMT | 1 |
I am having a new pool installed and am thinking about a small cabana in the garage to reduce in house traffic. Unfortunately the yard slopes down toward the garage, and the toilet sewer level there would be slightly below the sewer main at the street. I therefore have to

| Water heater flow question | 13 Dec 2007 18:47 GMT | 7 |
I've got a tankless water heater which I love - as I tend to take extended showers sometimes and I love not worrying about when it will run out. I recently have upgraded my shower, however, to include multiple shower heads/body sprays, and now it appears the tankless

| return air duct in basement | 13 Dec 2007 15:55 GMT | 5 |
I am finishing my basement. There was previously one duct to supply the entire unfinished basement with air, which left it a little cool in the winter. Now I'm creating a mechanical room of only about 150 sqft, a bathroom of 50 sqft, and a main room of about 700 sqft. I
