I'm planning to install a subpanel on the 2nd floor that is fed from a
main in the basement.  I'm guessing it's about a 40' run.  The panel
will be 100A or 125A.  The reading I've done so far suggested I need
SER type cable for the feeder run.  I couldn't find this cable at any

have been thinking about getting a steel roof (shingles) for 3 yrs
now.  My asphalt shingle roof leaks now.  called this guy (150 miles
from here) selling Metalworks (tamko) steel shingles.  He comes &
throws this 1/2hr sales pitch at me.  The steel is not much better

I'm supposed to be using the 2006 International Plumbing Code (IPC).
I heard somewhere that water closets don't need cleanouts.  However
under the section for "Cleanouts" that fact is not mentioned.  In

I`m planing on running An electric line from the house to a shed. It
will be in buried in conduit. Can I pull romex through the conduit or
should I use individual conductors? Is stranded  wire or solid best?

I have an investment property and one of the apartments is equipped
with the so call "Gas-On-Gas" Stove/Heat system.  The unit is
marginally working and I am looking into replacing the unit.  My
understanding is that they don't make these types of units anymore.

at a gas pack unit. It has to maintain 10 lbs. of pressure over night. I have

I've been reading about the proper way to vent a utility sink in the
basement.   After looking at the existing plumbing I discovered that a
first floor bath and kitchen sink share a single (wet) vent.  Only the
bath sink has a dry vent.   I bought this house (new construction) in

I replaced a 110 volt outlet and ran an additional outlet from it. Now my vm
says I have 110volts but nothing works when I plug into it. So I removed the
second outlet while checking to make sure I had wired correctly, tested the
outlet - vm says I have voltage but nothing I plug in ...
