roofing for older mobile home17 Dec 2007 23:23 GMT5
I know some really poor folks with an old single wide mobile home.
It's leaking and I'm looking for a method of sealing it without going
the cool-seal route.  Maybe something like EPDM membrane or something
similar.

Problem with Admiral dishwasher DWD150017 Dec 2007 20:39 GMT1
Our Admiral DWD1500 has stopped and won't start again.
We opened the door mid-cycle.  Have done this many times, and it
always starts up again when the door is closed.   There are two LEDs
blinking on the front panel: "ON" and "CYCLE" (Normal).  We thought it
Is it safe to use a load miser???17 Dec 2007 18:24 GMT6
Since I only have one 220V entry, I would like to plug a clothes dryer
on my oven plug using a load miser 15A/40A.   An electrician told me
it's safe to do it.  Another told me fires occured due to abuses using
load miser.  I don't know what to think.

Painting Grooved Walls17 Dec 2007 15:05 GMT19
Looks like it is time to paint the basement.  The walls are a 3/8-inch
plywood paneling with grooves over the entire surface.  Is there a
roller nap that will put an even coat of paint into the grooves
without leaving a texture from the roller?  I do not care to fill in
Smoke Detector Timing17 Dec 2007 14:35 GMT14
I have First Alert smoke detectors located throughout my house
(each bedroom, main hallways, and two non-bedrooms.) The whole
series are hardwired and I'm anal about changing the batteries
every 6 months.
Flakes of dirt remain when dishwasher finishes17 Dec 2007 09:31 GMT3
I've had the hardest luck Googling this, because "dirty dishes" implies
that there are still bits of dirt on the dishes themselves.  My dishwasher
does usually get everything off--cheese is about the one thing it can't
handle.  The problem is that there will be flakes of dirt ...

HELP Musty Naugahyde couch HELP17 Dec 2007 01:40 GMT1
I just bought a set of vintage Naugahyde furniture, and it smells
musty.  I've tried cleaning it with bleach, borax, vinegar and
spraying it with Febreeze and a new product called Concrobium (which
turns out to be mostly borax and water).  The odd thing is...it's the

I uploaded a bunch of photos taken as going along in the kitchen remodel project.  So far we have repaired the floor, framed a larger window, installed receptacle/switch boxes.

How to repair hole in ice bin?17 Dec 2007 00:05 GMT7
A large piece of my ice bin broke off, right under the auger.  It is a
17 year old Whirlpool with ice maker.  I think a large chunk of ice
got stuck in the auger and was pushed down to break out the hole.
I have previously repaired it with duct tape.  That works for a few
Engineered flooring finish16 Dec 2007 23:51 GMT2
My wife and I are deciding on new flooring for a house we're buying.
After deciding on bamboo we were informed that bamboo may not work
well in our home without a humidifier due to the dry Colorado.  So now
we're looking at engineered flooring.  After basically deciding on
