I have a leaking steel pipe that supplies warm water to radiators in my house. A plumber dropped by and said it would be easiest to cut the bad part away and weld a replacement. The pipe is about 2 inches thick. The replacement is about two feet.

I have determined that the compressor is the cause of my noisy refrigerator. It clunks as it turns on & off. What effect does this have upon the operation of the refrigerator other than being noisy? Can this cause higher than normal electricity consumption?

Yesterday, our large Whirlpool self cleaning oven quit working. That is, the electronic panel on it went black, and the latch that holds it shut during cleaning engaged partially. We can still open it with a fork, but the oven or clock or electronics won't work.
