3' X 5' X 8" thick slab.  rebar required?03 Sep 2006 00:35 GMT15
I'm going to be pouring a 3 x 5 slab 8" thick. 2" below ground and 6" above.
It will need to support about 500lbs.
I'll be using quikrete for this.  Do you think I'll need rebar for this
small slab?
Drywall sizes02 Sep 2006 20:17 GMT32
I picked up the wrong size drywall at the store, it wasn't a big deal since
I was just trying to get a remnant so I could patch holes in my wall.  It
was like 2 bucks for a 3/4 sheet.
But anyway I happened to get 3/8" drywall.  What size is typically used

The nails02 Sep 2006 16:41 GMT4
The nails on my galvanized siding are 2 inches.  When I connect them
to the 3/4 inch plywood tubing I notice water comes out of them and a
fuse blows immediately after I disconnect the hinges from the bar

Painting a roof?02 Sep 2006 16:00 GMT10
I own a 1 family home that has flat roof. About 7 years ago I had new

Whirlpool cloths washer will not pump out02 Sep 2006 14:48 GMT8
The washer will spin but not pump out. The pump is the direct drive
type (only a few years old) and I took it off and it is not the
problem. The drive to the pump is free (not frozen) so it must be
electrical? Is there a clutch between the motor and the direct drive,

Plaster of Paris slow cure.02 Sep 2006 05:46 GMT3
I need to reduce or slow the cure or set time of Plaster of Paris for some
hobby work. I have heard that instead of using water, a mixture of water and
glycerin (glycerol) may be used. Is this correct? What ratio should be used?
If glycerin is not the best cure retardant what ...
Insulating Floors?02 Sep 2006 05:43 GMT15
We have converted a three season porch into a four season by adding a
gas stove and some new windows.  Below is an unfinished basement - the
joists and subfloor are exposed.  Do I gain any efficiency by
installing insulation between the joists?

Recently read a story in the local news about someone using rented
house to grow pot. In the story they said that the electric meters
