septic system question10 Jun 2006 18:32 GMT1
We're fixing to go from septic system to lift station.  I'm trying to get a
feel for what size (in hp) pumps we'll need for our holding tank.
The task for the pumps will be to pump upward vertically approx 8'.  From
there, the discharge will dump into the gravity flow sewer line.

GFCI Breaker Question10 Jun 2006 17:57 GMT5
There was a lamp post in my front yard that the previous owners removed and
buried the cable.  I am going to put the lamp post back in.  When I traced
the electrical for the circuit that was previously used I found that the
cable is on the same circuit that also services the door ...
What to use for pool boarder?10 Jun 2006 16:35 GMT2
I've just put in an above ground frame and liner pool from Intex and now
that the area I put it on has been leveled I'm getting standing water after
a rain storm.  I'd like to put something down either to act as a sponge to
help keep it dry looking or something to drain it off.
Best HVAC Units?  Trane?10 Jun 2006 16:30 GMT9
Is there any general consensus as to who makes the most reliable and
long lasting HVAC units?  I'm looking for a split package AC.  Is Trane
one of the best?  I hear they run forever?
How to handle the roofing ridge between doing each side during a long spanned project10 Jun 2006 15:58 GMT4
I am doing a roofing job on my home over the course of a summer or well
maybe a year if winter comes early here in Wisconsin. The shingles
along the top I call the ridge shingles. I can cut three from a
three-tab shingle or buy them ready-made. What would you suggest for
rain caps for a chimney10 Jun 2006 14:59 GMT15
I have heard good and bad things about chimney caps.
What opinions are there about them, the general idea being to keep rain and
weather out of the chimney.
I have heard that they can alter the draft of the fireplace to make it hard
Garage is hot10 Jun 2006 14:26 GMT10
My garage is extremely hot.  Our car's heat after running make the
situation even worse.  I have wooden doors and was considering replacing
them with some sort of insulated doors or would placing some sort of
exhaust fan work better??
basement window almost at ground level10 Jun 2006 13:59 GMT7
We have two standard sized basement windows both are only about 1 inch
above the ground.  Yesterday we had a VERY heavy wind driven rain (over
4 inches in 12 hours).  Some water came in the  bottom of the window.
I checked outside and it looks like a small puddle formed in front of
Swamp Cooler to Refrigeration A/C10 Jun 2006 12:55 GMT107
Hiya,
Well I'm considering biting the bullet and changing out my swamp cooler for
a refrigeration unit.
Before I even bother with getting quotes, one question keeps nagging at me.
Declaring a home as a primary residence and claiming homestead exemption10 Jun 2006 03:48 GMT13
Just purchased a home which I intend to use as a primary residence
eventually.  But I intend to do some substantial remodeling before moving in
and it may take six to nine months to complete.  During this time I will
continue to stay at my current home, after the remodeling is ...
vinyl baseboard10 Jun 2006 03:10 GMT1
Can you use silicon to re-glue vinyl baseboard in a bathroom.  A small
section (4 to 5 inches) has pulled away from the wall.  This is just a
temporary patch job. Thanks
