Dielectric unions corroded06 May 2006 06:32 GMT1
My plumber installed couple of dielectric unions (one for hot and one for
cold) for my shower from galvanized pipe (house) to copper (shower) about 5
years ago. I took the unions apart as I'm re-piping my house with all
copper. The funny thing is the copper and galvanized pipes ...
Paint advice06 May 2006 05:54 GMT5
I'm in the process of finishing my basement.
I've drywalled the laundry room with moisture resistant drywall and I'm
ready to put a topcoat on the primer.
My question is, what is the best paint to use on drywall in the basement?
Tree grafting06 May 2006 05:48 GMT4
Ive heard of grafing a branch to a tree, can this be done with
different species, such as grafting fruit to a Oak tree or a Willow to
Oak. I was thinking of drilling a hole in the tree and inserting an
equal size branch of another species.  I have alot of old Oaks without
weedeater trimmer repair06 May 2006 05:03 GMT3
I have a weedeater gas trimmer, model BC2400, and was having problems
with the primer working.  Tc make a long story short, the carb is clean
and when switching up the fuel lines I found that the bulb worked too.
My problem now is that I am not sure which fuel line went where.  Is

Trauma Survivors - You don't have to go it alone any more06 May 2006 01:36 GMT1
Almost to a person, those who have suffered serious physical trauma,

stabbing victims and other major trauma injuries have had few if any
resources for their recovery other than professional help - the help
Chimney Tear down06 May 2006 01:26 GMT15
I have a chimney I have decided to teardown since it is not needed
(located in the family room). I already have another chimney in the
living room. The chimney also has cracks where it rests next to the
roof - another reason why I want it taken down.
Rust in Toilet Tank after vacation06 May 2006 01:19 GMT2
We noticed a rust buildup in the tank and rust in our water after
returning from a 4 month vacation.  I found this site by doing a
research.  I read the people were using iron out and bleach to clean
their tanks out.  I know not to use bleach as we are on septic but not
Plugging 'air holes' in an outdoor spa06 May 2006 00:24 GMT3
My home is about 33 years old, when it was built there was a built-in
above ground spa. Unlike today's spas which use water jets to massage
you, this spa shoots bubbles up through a series of holes in the bench.
A couple years ago the spa began draining down to the level of the
Leaking Corrugated Roof Over Deck05 May 2006 23:57 GMT2
I have plastic panels on a roof over a large deck, and the roof
leaks where it is in contact with the top of the wall of my house. (The
gutters were torn out where the roof was attached to the house.)  In
particular there are leaks where the wooden beams that supported the
disconnect spa power05 May 2006 23:22 GMT2
Is there a standardize way for a spa/hottub to connect to the house's power
main? Actually, I'm wondering if I can disconnect the hottub myself (if it's
a matter of unplugging a cord) so I can get rid of the hottub.
There are two circuit breakers in the breaker panel labeled "spa" ...
Best way to protect redwood Adirondack chair?05 May 2006 22:41 GMT7
My wife has an Adirondack chair that her son made for her two years
ago. It is made of redwood and originally had a polyurethane (satin)
finish (no stain).
Since then, it has been on the back deck in the weather. The sides
Gate - curved top - how to?05 May 2006 22:40 GMT5
I'd appreciate your advice on how to calculate and/or build a curve of
pickets on a wood gate about 3-1/2 feet wide.
The pointed pickets with spaces between them would begin at their
highest point at each vertical edge and then evenly curve down a few
Bathroom Wall - water damage05 May 2006 22:19 GMT6
So as I'm re-doing a bathroom in our home, I run into some water
damage at the wall where it meets the tub and right in the
neighborhood of where I'm going to install a bathroom cabinet/sink
