Tiolet problem03 Dec 2003 14:44 GMT2
I realize this has been discussed here before but my case seems a
little different in that both of the following happen to me:
When the washing machine drains the tiolet bubbles - and sometimes it
fills up with water and sometimes it emptys almost completely.
Washing machine sometimes STOPS for no reason03 Dec 2003 14:34 GMT6
We have a relatively new (2.5 year old) maytag washing machine.
Sometimes it just STOPS in the middle of the washing cycle for no
reason. I turn the knob a few times, unplug the machine a couple of
times, and after a while it helps to get it restarted to, say, a spin

Electrical puzzle03 Dec 2003 13:46 GMT7
In a rental house there is a kitchen ceiling light, and a dinining area
light.  There is a wall switch with two switches. The switch plate looks
like an electrical outlet, but instead of two plug-in's there are two
switches that toggle side-to-side (and old style?).
Wall Insulation Q03 Dec 2003 13:09 GMT2
In regard to my new built garage with 2X4 walls.
Can I use that  ½" pink Foamular insulation on the INSIDE of my walls if
it's covered with sheetrock? I see it's for use on exterior walls, usually
on the outside but how about the inside. Seems I could add some more R

roofing over board porch roof; sheathing necessary?03 Dec 2003 11:16 GMT1
Our old farmhouse has an unenclosed porch that is roofed with what
looks like 2x6 from underneath, then has a metal roof on top.  The
metal roof is in bad shape so we are going to put on a shingled roof.
Some of the baords need to be replaced, but after that, is it

Natural gas prices are going higher and I would like to hear some tips
on making my house more energy efficient.

Outdoor christmas lights03 Dec 2003 07:09 GMT1
Since you all helped so much with the garbage disposal, I figured
I'd run one more question by you and shorten my honey-do list.
I have several strings of Outdoor/Indoor holiday lights.  They say
they are safe to plug in outdoors, but I'm concerned about the rain.
Painting Trim/Door Casing and Doors03 Dec 2003 04:47 GMT2
Okay, I'm sure this has been answered before, but here goes...
I would like to repaint the door casings in my house.  Here's the
situation.
The original casing was some sort of stained walnut looking stuff.  This
Hot at the top, Cold on the bottom03 Dec 2003 04:27 GMT3
I have a problem with my radiators.
They're Hot at the top, Cold on the bottom (Therefore it isn't air,
which would cause the top of the radiator to be cold & the bottom hot)
I've blead the radiators, and they are all filled with water.
Cement mixer questions03 Dec 2003 04:26 GMT4
I am going to do quite a bit of rock, flagstone, and mortar decorative work.
In some cases, this will be just stacking flagstone, and mortaring
inbetween.  In others, it will be sticking flagstone on to block.  But in
any case, using a lot of mortar to make decorative rock work.
Overhead electrical service to a storage shed03 Dec 2003 04:21 GMT2
I'd like to run electrical and telephone service to my storage shed, which is located 40'
from my home.  I'd appreciate any advice that the experts in this group can provide.
I am planning on a 20' 4x4" pole at the shed, buried 5', with a pair of Par-38's near the
top of the pole ...

Explosion Risk with Spray Rigs03 Dec 2003 04:00 GMT6
I've used my new Graco Magnum 5 spray rig to paint some cottage cheese
ceilings in my house (my first try at this sort of thing), and in order to
avoid the mist from going everywhere, I've used plastic sheeting to pretty
much seal off the room I'm working in.  I've noticed that the ...
