8-Tips for Packing and Traveling Lite30 Jul 2008 15:50 GMT1
How-to Pack and Travel Lite
In this day and age of traveling cephalalgia, there are a few packing
tactics to employ. To cut out an extra thirty to forty minutes at the
arriving airport, start with packing small luggage. Since carry-ons
stucco & foam sealant?26 Jul 2008 18:30 GMT1
I believe I have stucco on the outer (outside) walls of my place.  I
was wondering what I might use to fill in the little cracks that come
about as a dwelling ages?
Can I use foam sealant or is there something better for that?

Gutter Guards -- do they work?22 Jul 2008 19:07 GMT2
We live on a heavily wooded lot with lots of oak trees, which provide an
abundance of leaves in the fall and masses of spent flowers in the spring,
which clog up the slats in the current gutter guards we have now, which are
of the plastic snap in variety. And inside the gutters a ...
Possible Pool Leak - Ideas21 Jul 2008 01:15 GMT2
Our water bill spiked by 15,000 gallons from last month and I isolated
it to the autofill for our 22,000 gallon pool.  When I shut off the
supply to the autofill, the outside meter shows zero flow, but when I
turn it back on, the little "trickle" needle starts spinning.  I
Re: Surviving high heating oil prices17 Jul 2008 23:06 GMT2
In the event that anyone out there actually wishes to discuss JonquilJans
original subject, or anything having to with making it through winter,
insulating, or weatherizing a house, start a new subject. This R-value
routine has degenerated into a farce.
BBQ cleaning brushes17 Jul 2008 22:14 GMT2
Cleaning brushes for barbeque grills were formerly
made only of brass wires.  The last two I found when
recently shopping seemed to be made of steel, i.e.
likelier to scratch the enamel on the grills -- opinions?
The WORST builder I can think of but17 Jul 2008 03:52 GMT10
This outfit is a "BBB accredited member", and that's exactly why my
company abandoned its membership with bbb. We don't want to be
associated with crooks line kb. We are forced to share the planet with
them but that's as much as we are willing to tolerate!
Spade drill bit problem12 Jul 2008 04:51 GMT9
I haven't had to drill a hole larger than an inch for
a long time, so I wasn't surprised when my 1-1/4-inch
spade bit made it to a depth of about 1/8 inch and then
spun and soon smoked. Maybe time to buy a new one.
outdoor furniture chairs discolored08 Jul 2008 15:45 GMT2
I have outdoor patio furniture with chairs made of plastic cross-
straps. These plastic straps have discolored to a light rust color.
But only on the seats, not on the backs.
Is this because the chairs sit in the sun all day? Is there some way
Warm Refrigerator07 Jul 2008 13:52 GMT12
Lately, I started hearing a loud humming sound in my fridge and all of a sudden, ice cream wouldnt
freeze, the fridge portion was warm. So, I opened the back and used a shop vac on the fan by the
compressor. The problem was the same. The compressor is quiet and the fan near it is ...
House water pressure Q?04 Jul 2008 18:40 GMT4
It seems that no matter how much I screw in the screw adjustment the
water pressure seems low.  The Multi-Pure doesn't work well, the on
demand Hot water heater doesn't kick on.
What's up.  I was told the way to up the pressure was to tighten the
Lawn weed problems - lots of clover03 Jul 2008 05:04 GMT14
Help. My lawn is infested with clover. The lawn now has a blanket of
clover with small while flowers. Last week I sprayed Ortho's weed
killer using a garden host, but it doesn't seem to have made much
difference.
Obtain recycled lumber?02 Jul 2008 22:23 GMT4
I can use some recycled 2x12s, 2x10s, etc. if they're
cheaper than new lumber. I've read about stores that
sell recycled building materials, but the only one I've
heard about in the Washington area is in Baltimore and
