House selling31 Jul 2007 19:25 GMT4
I'm in the process of selling my house.  The buyer is having an

the 14th day.  Is there a stategy in that?  What can a seller do if
the inspection turns up problems that can't be repaired before the

Homeowner's insurance cancelled due to bars on windows?23 Jul 2007 17:34 GMT4
I was kind of surprised when we received a cancellation notice
due to "bars on windows."  I would have thought that this, if anything,
would lower the risk.
What gives?
Recommendations regarding termite control22 Jul 2007 23:20 GMT4
I bought a house and I am paranoid about termites.  It seems like a
big black hole.  It's not covered by home owners insurance, termite
companies generally don't cover damage, and the companies that do
cover damage get sued all the time.

The house we just moved into has a redundant battery operated sump
pump installed in addition to the main AC unit.  I can see why the
previous owners installed one.. The pump runs about every 20 minutes

Roof Over a Roof19 Jul 2007 07:23 GMT2
We are presently restoring a 1,250 sq. ft. log home built in the early '70s,
sited on a spot without a leaf of shade over the roof.  The pitch of the
original roof (built of trusses) is approximately 1:4 which strikes us as
being pretty low even for the southern Missouri Ozarks ...
Pool Bonding18 Jul 2007 16:49 GMT1
Anyone familiar with bonding an above ground pool? The pool we put in is
an Aqualeader Escape, all part are resin molded so I assume there
would be no bonding required?
biweekly mortgage, make sense?18 Jul 2007 02:37 GMT4
Hi, I was suggested by friends to switch my monthly mortgage payment
to biweekly. I thought it was a good idea. But after a little
research, it does not make sense to me. First, my lender charge $375
for setup. Second, you pay 26 times, it is the same amount of 13
small holes in above ground pool wall17 Jul 2007 18:14 GMT2
I have inherited an Esther Williams above ground pool. It is around
10-12 years old. Everything on the pool was in great shape except for
the bottom tracks (I ordered new ones) and I just noticed dozens of
small holes near the bottom 6 inches of the aluminum wall. I cannot

Situation: Just bought out my partner's share if the house I live in,
and need to assume the mortgage or re-fininance.
