I bought a house and I am paranoid about termites.  It seems like a
big black hole.  It's not covered by home owners insurance, termite
companies generally don't cover damage, and the companies that do

The house we just moved into has a redundant battery operated sump
pump installed in addition to the main AC unit.  I can see why the
previous owners installed one.. The pump runs about every 20 minutes

It was easy for me to replace the ceiling fan/light in the upstairs
bathroom as I could attack if from the attic, where everything was right
there and open for me.  I now would like to do the same with the ceiling

We are presently restoring a 1,250 sq. ft. log home built in the early '70s,
