Cedar Roof Care & Maintenance03 Jun 2005 18:10 GMT2
I recently bought a house with a 3-year old cedar roof.  Not being too
familiar with cedar roofs, I have a question:
I have read literature and have heard statements from roofers that a
cedar roof should be power-washed and then treated every 3 to 5 years
HVAC Question (multiple thermostats on one system)03 Jun 2005 17:43 GMT1
I have a question about how to handle a tricky thermostat situation.
I'll describe the situation simply below.
My house is located in Maryland and is pretty big. There is a main
floor with 10 ft ceilings and an upstairs, which is much smaller and

Glass tiles for bathroom floor?01 Jun 2005 21:25 GMT1
I have a bunch of Sicis iridescent glass (mosaic) tiles. Although they
come in 1 ft sq sheets, the tiles themselves are quite small -about
1/2" sq.  I'm going to have my small bathroom re-done this summer, and
was wondering if anyone has any sense that this tile would NOT be
Opossums under our deck01 Jun 2005 20:54 GMT17
We've suspected a critter was living under a deck, since late at night
we would hear rustling. Yesterday in the early morning we discovered a
mother 'possum with ten babies clinging to her back coming back from a
night of foraging and miraculously squeezing back under the deck.
Replacing bathroom vent fan01 Jun 2005 18:11 GMT2
I had a situation that required me to remove the housing of an existing
vent fan from first floor bathroom.  There is no access other than the
opening of the old fan, but the proper facilties are in place (exhaust
pipe, electrical).   I'm looking for recommendations/experiences with

I'm going to be moving into a new house soon and I've been advised to
do a snagging checklist.
Has anyone got a good one of these that they can email me?
Many thanks
Any recommendations on cordless phones?01 Jun 2005 17:46 GMT19
Hey all,
We just bought a new house and had VOIP installed. We want to pick up
one of those cordless phone kits that include multiple handsets, to use
throughout the house.
Matching new brick to old brick01 Jun 2005 15:55 GMT1
I have a challenge:
I have 4 brick steps, appear to be made from true clay brick.  I'm
adding 2 more steps to the bottom (lowered the walkway), and picked up
new red concrete bricks.  Real clay bricks are hard to get, the only

Rustoleum Epoxy For Garage Floor: Question...01 Jun 2005 12:30 GMT1
I applied the Rustoleum Epoxy Shield to my garage floor as a weekend

letter.
The floor has been curing for over 24 hours now, so I decided to walk

doors in 100+ year old house don't shut01 Jun 2005 02:21 GMT4
Hello.  I live in an old house, built around 1880.  The previous owners
repaired and renovated extensively, but nothing in the house is square.
The interior doors do not latch, or even stick closed.  As far as I
can tell, there are two reasons for this.
Maximum Span for Shed, without supporting posts??01 Jun 2005 02:16 GMT23
I am neither a builder or carpenter.    I saw a shed today at Home Depot,
that measured 16 x  16.  It had a loft second story to it for additional
storage.
There are no internal supporting posts.   The joists were 2 x 10, and
