Honeywell thermostat problem15 Mar 2005 23:32 GMT3
My programmable thermostat has started behaving strangely. The digital
display one day showed 78F (at this time it should be 69F). The room
was very warm. Sometimes it sets itself correctly, at other times the
reading shows 21F although the room is not cold. This does not seem to
Combining two 30-amp circuits15 Mar 2005 21:23 GMT9
If I want to run an appliance that needs 50 amps, is there any problem
with combining two 30-amp circuits of approximately the same length, as

cable?  It seems like the circuit would have a 60 amp capacity.

To seal or not to seal15 Mar 2005 20:51 GMT6
I heard pros and cons of sealing the grout lines in ceramic wall and floor
tile.
Looking for any opinions and also what are good brands if sealing is the way

Outdoor kitchen countertop?15 Mar 2005 19:04 GMT1

Two winters ago, we built an outdoor kitchen at our cabin in the Cascades in

Easements15 Mar 2005 16:33 GMT33
I have perhaps found why the property is priced so low. :( Easements.
This is what I found on the old warranty deed of the previous owner-

Taking out a car loan to reduce rates on a house?15 Mar 2005 04:21 GMT6
So one of my friends has a new job as a programmer and currently lives
in an apartment.  There is this car that he wants which he can buy if he
waited a little.  However, somebody told him that he should -take out a
car loan on purpose- so that it will somehow boost his credit ...
Questions about FHA inspection as Buyer15 Mar 2005 01:35 GMT2
First, my apologies if I don't get the terminology exactly right...this
is my first time buying a home.
I'm currently the buyer of a property and was approved for an FHA

stair runners14 Mar 2005 20:57 GMT3
I am going crazy trying to figure out what kind of carpet runner to buy for
my stairs. I want an oriental pattern since it hides dirt better. But my
main concern is the products resistance to matting and flattening.
Choices are wool (best), nylon (good synthetic with resistance to ...

Twins to a King14 Mar 2005 00:44 GMT4
We've just purchased a king size bed (headboard, side rails, footboard)
with the expectation of using our existing, nearly new twin size
mattresses and boxsprings. Learned the hard way that king side rails
are 81+" long while the twin mattress/boxsprings are only 75".  What
new house- no dishwasher hookup13 Mar 2005 20:25 GMT4
Hi- my son and his wife just purchased a newly built home with a space
