"White Out" stain removal20 Oct 2004 21:09 GMT6
Help!  How do I get "White Out" out of my son's school uniform black
pants?  The pants are 65% Polyester and 35% Viscose Rayon (if that
makes a difference).
Any suggestions are appreciated... Thank you!
FHA required repairs20 Oct 2004 17:28 GMT4
I've been reading a number of posts about FHA inspections and just
want to make sure my understanding of the process is correct:
1) Buyer must scheduled the FHA appraisal and inspection by the date
set in the contract.
Heating a vacation home in winter20 Oct 2004 05:09 GMT6
Hi -- I purchased a small ski house in Canada last year so it's my
second winter. When I bought the house there were a fair number of
cracks in the walls, which my neighbor said was a result of rapid
heating - i.e. the previous owners would leave the house unheated when
Pricing of 6" PVC joints20 Oct 2004 04:48 GMT14
Hi,
I'm looking for all sorts of PVC/ABS joints that are of 6" diameter.
I haven't been able to find them on any online stores.  Does anyone
know of the pricing of these?
Replace flooring / pet concerns.20 Oct 2004 01:03 GMT4
I currently have about 1400sqft upstairs, and 1000 in the basement.
The basement is not yet finished and has no floors.  Upstairs, I have
carpet through most of the house, ceramic tile (stone) in the Kitchen,
front door, fireplace area, and vinyle in the bathrooms.
pressure wash house during rainy season?20 Oct 2004 00:35 GMT2
I noticed that my house has a little mildew under the eaves of the
roof. I live in Oregon and I'm concerned about pressure washing the
house during the rainy season. The house is going to be wet regardless
of what I do, but it seems that pressure washing will force more water
Green sheetrock in shower?19 Oct 2004 18:11 GMT6
I have had problems with grout cracking and water leakage in my
year-old tile shower. I have discovered that the builder used green
water resistant gypsum board instead of concrete board. He also used
steel edge trim pieces in a few places which are rusting under the
year built error?19 Oct 2004 15:47 GMT11
I'm in the process of buying a house but contingent on inspection so I still
have an easy out.  Looking at the county assessor's tax records for this house I
see that they say it is 10 years older than the seller claims. Hmmmmm
Building Quality is Poor as well .. :(
Sump Pump  Discharge Questions19 Oct 2004 05:02 GMT4
I recently bought a house with a flotec pedestal pump in a basement
sump, and a terrible leaky flexible hose that the previous owners ran
to a sink when needed.  Based on last spring, the basement rarely
floods - pump only ran after extended rain - at least two days
Smoke/fire detector that isn't too sensitive?19 Oct 2004 00:46 GMT7
Every time we cook something in the broiler, every smoke
detector in our house goes off.  I'm talking detectors on the
first floor in the foyer next to the kitchen, up the stairs
in the second-floor hallway, and up the second flight of
Help understanding broker fees18 Oct 2004 22:20 GMT17
Recently, the house next to ours was bought by a company that will be
demolishing it and building an apartment complex in that space.  They have
made an offer to buy our house and have sent an agent with an offer.  As
part of the closing costs, there are broker fees.  My question is ...
Possibly Signing New-Home Contract Next Week, Seeking Advice18 Oct 2004 17:16 GMT5
Next week I'll begin negotiations with a builder regarding a home that has
been framed in and is nearing the bricking stage.  It will be the first
home I've purchased (although I've bought, and own outright, a
Condominium).  I have a few basic questions.  First, note that the ...
Septic Tank Perk Test Question.18 Oct 2004 17:10 GMT3
My question is if a suucessful perk test was performed in one place
and the septic system is installed only 10 feet away from where the
successful perk test was performed, is it possible that a septic
system may not perk in the new position that is only 10 feet away from
Help! Wallpaper removal has become a disaster...18 Oct 2004 16:37 GMT4
My wife decided to remove the wallpaper in one bedroom and so she could
paint the wall. The paper was put up five years ago on top of painted
drywall. Over the years, the paper started coming up at the seams and she
glued it back down. Now, after removing the wallpaper, the glued ...
