The Weather Channel, MSNBC, CNN and FOX News. The hurricane
Jeanne has landed near Vero Beach, FL, and not as many people
have evacuated as they did in previous hurricanes this season.

I found a couple water stains on the drywall area where the 1st floor
ceiling meet outwall after heavy rain. The house is only 7 year old
and has two stories.  And the wall outside is covered with vinyl
sidings.  Two stains look like below 2 upstair windows.  The 3rd one
Priming new drywall on skimcoated ceiling/ Which primer should I use?????30 Sep 2004 12:58 GMT5
I live in a modern apartment building with a concrete slab for a
ceiling (of course). I stripped off all of the "popcorn" texture (just
add water, it falls off) that was on the ceiling and painted the slab
with WeldCrete. I then laboriously applied four coats of joint

I'll soon be relocating to Flagstaff Arizona and I'm exploring housing
options.  In addition to the usual, houses, condos etc. I'm considering

I live near Pensacola, FL, and recently experienced Hurricane Ivan.

What housing styles are easier/cheaper to expand?29 Sep 2004 18:15 GMT12
My wife and I are just starting a first-time house hunt
in suburban Washington, DC. We plan to buy a small house
in an (expensive) inner suburb, rather than a larger house further out.
But we hope to expand the house as our income goes up.
Manufactured Home advice29 Sep 2004 15:58 GMT5
I am looking into buying a manufactured home.  How do you determine the
price of a manufactured home?  The seller's price seems to be decent for
the area.  Then again, I don't know how much I should offer him below
his asking price.  What should I look for when I am buying a
How often to replace wallpaper29 Sep 2004 15:51 GMT1
Hi. On average how often do you need to replace wallpaper? I know that
the obvious answer is "whenever it starts looking tatty", but I need
to know a "typical" figure. Any hints?
Thanks in anticipation,

Rights to use water on your land?28 Sep 2004 20:00 GMT6

homes with basements in that area.  As I was driving by one of the many new
housing developments the other day I wondered, if I lived in a swampy area
like that, could I just dig a hole and put a pump down ...
