Drive over septic???27 Jul 2004 01:51 GMT5
Ok, everybody knows "never drive over a septic system".  I have a situation
where this is totally unavoidable.  A new well must be drilled and the ONLY
way in is over the septic.  There is no access from the sides or front and
all of the back yard is septic system.  This system is 2 ...
Installing a replacement built-in dishwasher26 Jul 2004 21:18 GMT3
We are (hopefully) going to install a new built in dishwasher this weekend.
It will replace one that has been there about 20 years.  When the GE
delivery man brought  the new dishwasher, I asked him if everything to
install it was included in the box.  He said no, that we would need ...
Is there any way to save money on Title Insurance? (real post, not troll)26 Jul 2004 17:53 GMT1
I'm closing in three weeks, and my lawyer agreements includes the title
search and the option for title insurance.  I don't have an option to obtain
title insurance, but I seem to have some option about where to obtain it
from.  My lawyer's agreements states that they receive some ...
Cleaning Supplies?25 Jul 2004 23:20 GMT5
I'm just curious if anyone has tried natural cleaning products instead
of the normal grocery store brands.  It seems like a healthier
alternative, especially with kids around, but I'm not sure how well
they would work.
Metal Windows - Repair or Replace25 Jul 2004 22:52 GMT1
We have metal windows that swing open with a crank system. The house was
built in 1957 and I'm not sure if they are the original windows but thinks
so.
Some of the windows are starting to fog up.  Can the glass in this kind of
septic system odor question25 Jul 2004 20:47 GMT4
I have a question about the odors that come out of the vent pipe
of a septic system.
I have a house that has a septic system. I had  the
septic tank pumped out two years ago when I first moved in. I have
Toilet stuff...25 Jul 2004 18:48 GMT2
... or maybe stuffed?
I've been having a problem with two toilets on the same floor, both of
which flush too slowly to completely remove everything. Generally, loose
paper and tissue still remains on the surface.
Adding a Pool Heater25 Jul 2004 18:38 GMT2
First time poster to this group.
I'm considering adding a pool heater to my 21' aboveground pool. My main
goal is to make the water warmer for a longer period of time. My yard has
plenty-o-shade, so therefore the pool doesn't get much above 75f for most of
Tempur-Pedic mattress questions25 Jul 2004 18:07 GMT2
My parents got a packet of information about the Tempur-Pedic Swedish
Mattress/Sleep System. There seems to be some confusion as the
information isn't very clear. Supposedly, either the mattress or the
mattress overlay molds or conforms to the body. Does anyone know which
How to deal with mosquito problem?24 Jul 2004 17:04 GMT7
We just bought and moved in a townhouse in Northern Virginia. A play
ground and many trees are around our house. We feel we live in a forest.
The play ground is not kept very clean. There are many unwanted-grass in
the "lawn".  We never realized the mosquito is a serious problem ...
Please explain (appraisal fee question)24 Jul 2004 05:42 GMT27
When a person refinances, just why is there a need for
a several hundred-dollar appraisal?  Think about it, the
tax assessors of your home county assess values to our
homes and we pay taxes based on this value.  My assessment
false fire alarm?23 Jul 2004 23:34 GMT12
I have 7 year-old house which FireX smoke detectors installed
in each room and in the hallway.
The problem started approx two years ago that some alarm went off
during mid-night. It normally happens during summer night when it
Use window A/C through the wall?23 Jul 2004 14:55 GMT3
Hey folx;
Bought a new 9000 BTU window A/C last summer, worked fine. Then in the
fall I replaced the window in the room I want it in. Oops, no longer
fits! Without going into details, it simply will not work in the only
Fireworks23 Jul 2004 14:52 GMT13
The risk of fire is pretty much constant here in the SF Bay area by
this time of year. California in general has entered fire season much
earlier this year.
So, when my neighbors have their traditional Independence Day BBQs with
