| propane torch with disposable propane canisters | 21 Jun 2004 18:19 GMT | 3 |
I bought a propane torch from Harbor Freight for melting snow and killing the weeds in my gravel driveway. The connection for the tank is a nut of about 3/4" with a protrusion of about 1-1/2 inches beyond the nut. Since it doesn't fit my small camping-type canisters I assume

| Tree Question | 21 Jun 2004 12:48 GMT | 5 |
I've got a small tree on my property and don't even know what it is. It must be about 4 years old, same age as the house. The leaves have not come in very well this year yet and I'm wondering if it's because of these small branches, or other plants coming out of the bottom of the ...

| attic's pretty hot... | 20 Jun 2004 23:49 GMT | 27 |
I have an asphalt shingle roof with soffit and ridge venting - good insulation between the attic and the 2nd floor of the house. It gets pretty hot up there in the summer (in Maryland - 85 or so outside right now, 115 or so in the attic). My soffit vents are clear (I can

| Anyone have A/C installed *recently*? | 20 Jun 2004 23:12 GMT | 1 |
I'll be calling the A/C people next week, but I'd like to armed with a little knowledge first. We want to add central A/C to our house, which was built last year. 1800 square feet, two story, Pacific Northwest. It has central gas heat so I assume the existing duct work is OK.

| Lighting for small bedroom with odd window (little light) | 18 Jun 2004 21:23 GMT | 6 |
I have a bedroom I'm using as a home office, and the window provides next to no light for the room. The room is 14'x11' and though the window is 34"x34", it purtrudes from the house 26" in an odd box-like structure -- I guess to give the house exterior something other then a

| Can I use this to clean my siding? | 18 Jun 2004 21:03 GMT | 4 |
I have aluminum siding on my house. It's from 1956, and will not be replaced at any time soon. I have been advised not to use a power washer on the siding, as it could force water up under the panels, which will create all sorts of problems. There is a product on the market ...
