Tenant with a lease and landlord wants to sell18 May 2004 19:36 GMT22
I have 5 months left on my one year lease, and I find out from
realtors and plumbers that my landlord is planning on selling the
house. So, I have to move again -- the *third* time due to the messy
Frigidaire Front Load Washer18 May 2004 19:20 GMT2
I  bought a new Frigidaire Gallery front load washer a few months ago. It
works better than I expected. Compared to my old 15 year old top load
washer, this front load washer saves water, electricity, detergent, is
quieter, has less lint and spins faster to extract more water.
First Time home buyer - Downpayment or No Downpayment?18 May 2004 18:12 GMT2

first time buyers with little financial sophistication or financial sense for that matter.
In general, is it better to purchase a home with a downpayment or without? Some people I
have spoken ...

Weird question:
Has anybody ever seen a gas lawn mower, manufactured in the last 25
years, where you _can't_ adjust the height?
Grout & Tile Adhesive Removal17 May 2004 21:26 GMT1
I just finished my bathtub walls and am wonderings if there are any secrets
to getting rid of grout and tile adhesive from the tiles. Obviously, doing a
better job of cleanup as I went would have been optimal, but now I'm stuck
with a bit of a job. Any great formulas for this?
Wallpaper removal not going so well...17 May 2004 05:33 GMT8
My boyfriend and I just moved into a house where the previous owner
apparently collected and loved horrendous wallpaper. We made removing
it and painting our very first priority. We've had no problem in most
of the rooms, some of it was even the peel-off kind. Then we got to
Septic Tank Water17 May 2004 03:52 GMT9
I'm looking for any suggestions/comments you have about our situation with
the septic tank...
My parents bought this home new in 1993, meaning it will be 11 yrs old this
June.  For about 4-5 years living here the tank was not pumped.  When it
Any Magnetic Water Softeners That Work?17 May 2004 03:50 GMT18
I have very hard water in my house, so I started doing some research
on possibly installing a whole house water softener.  I rapidly
stubbled upon magnetic water softeners, which claim to soften water
without the use of any chemicals or plumbing modifications.  My

House Painters16 May 2004 21:01 GMT1
Is it normal for a house painter (doing the exterior only) to require
keys to my house while painting? The painter states its so they can
remove the storm windows and make sure that the regular windows can
still be opened and shut. I've looked around and don't see anything
