Sto rendering12 Apr 2004 23:26 GMT6
My wife had her house refurbished with a government grant. The outer
cladding was concrete. It has been replaced with Sto render and it is
really atrocious. The insulation was nailed to the wood and the render
applied by trowel afterwards. Now on a cold morning the house looks

Trim question: To cope or not to cope 135 degree inside angles12 Apr 2004 17:12 GMT7
I'm installing the trim in my basement and am about to start the 3
piece crown moldings.  I'm pretty confident about being able to cope
the 90 degree inside corners where the walls meet the ceiling but am
not so sure the best way to deal with the 8 sided trays.  The trays

I am making around $112K and am in the process of closing on a $543K

on 10/1 ARM ( 5.25% interest) and home equity line ( %4.18)for the
Buying a new house PMI or PiggyBack10 Apr 2004 16:12 GMT7
I'm buying a new home. I have a few questions concerning if I should
do PMI or Piggyback. My mortgage person has been "unavailable" to

considerably less then some of the other home prices in the
Install an above gruond pool10 Apr 2004 15:54 GMT2
I came across a great deal ($50) for a used above ground pool.  It
appears to be a 24 foot round model with a thru the wall skimmer and
sand filter.  My back yard has a definite grade so as much as   2 foot
of  dirt will need to be moved.   I got a price of $850  for the
Dishwashers that dry properly?10 Apr 2004 13:28 GMT5
I moved into a brand new house and the dishwasher dry cycle is very weak
compared to the dishwasher in the older home I used to live in.  I called
the manufacturer and they said try using rinse aid.  That helped a little,
but dishes still remain damp for hours after the cycle is ...

I'm considering replacing my rusting steel shed with a vinyl or
vinyl-covered steel shed.  I did a WWW search and came up with the Vinyl

Why is voltage at electrical box 37 VAC and not 110 ?09 Apr 2004 15:43 GMT4
In my house there is an octagon box attaced to which is a the type of
light you pull with a string. It suddenly stopped working, so I
removed the light completely and measured the voltage coming into the
octagon box. Strange thing is that the voltage is 37 volts AC, rather
grounding / earthing / bonding question09 Apr 2004 08:29 GMT2
Forgive me if I am using the incorrect terms. My question is in regards to
the grounding rod outside the house. The utilities enter the house from two
different locations. Power and telco are at the front of the house, with the
telco connected to the grounding rod. Cable is at the ...
