We are redoing a bathroom and one of the changes is  to replace a
shower curtain with a shower door for the tub.  The problem is that
the shower curtain rod is drilled into the ceramic tiles such that
four 4" tiles are damaged on each wall.  The shower door end pieces

basement carpeting and moisture21 Feb 2004 00:26 GMT6
We are about to spend at least $1200 on re-carpeting our finished
basement (25x25 feet).  The existing carpet is a cheap Home Depot Berber
with the pad incorporated into the carpet.  It is glued down.  The carpet
smells like dog urine from the previous owner.  When we first moved in ...

I am curious about people's opinions.  The case for and against
aluminium:

I've noticed dampness in the front 5' of my 20x24 detached garage a few
times when it rained in the past month or two (didn't really have any
considerable rain last fall).  Yesterday I had enough water in the front
that I had to mop it out.   After getting the standing water out, on ...

We have a mid-50s ranch house with a lot of knotty pine in the
kitchen.  We are getting ready to tear down the dated floral wallpaper

pressure washer for stamped concrete?19 Feb 2004 16:25 GMT3
I'm thinking of getting a pressure washer.  I want it for 2 things. . .to clean
up the years of dirt and grime on the concrete that a hose just isn't cleaning
up.  And to get the creeping brown line dissapating that is starting up the
stucco on the house.

The water has formed in the summer, the fall, and now the winter
Drywall Taping - to tape or not to tape?19 Feb 2004 12:38 GMT1
Hello. I've got a bathroom in which, during remodelling, I discovered
the original builder had taken a lot of shortcuts in building and had
hidden several large holes behind things I was removing. Due to the
size of the holes in the drywall, I cut out a piece big enough to
bathroom lighting19 Feb 2004 10:06 GMT2
We are in the process of remodeling our bathroom, taking out recessed
