Draining above ground pool29 Feb 2004 19:12 GMT6
When winter hit, I decided to maintain a minimum amount of chemicals
in my pool and just drain it when it started to get warmer.  We're
still in the cooler months, but I'd like to start planning my pool
now.
Adding one more floor to the house? Possible????29 Feb 2004 19:06 GMT14
Some pictures of my house are at:

This is actually a three story house. The third floor is basically one
nice big bedroom, plus a shower, a bat, and toilet. 5 bedrooms, 4.1
where can I buy a beeday?29 Feb 2004 18:25 GMT6
hi, i'm looking to buying a beeday, but can't find a vendor anywhere,
even on the web.
I'm in the uk, but maybe some places in the US would give me a clue of
where to look in the uk.
hardwood floors28 Feb 2004 22:00 GMT2
We are getting solid oak floors for our kitchen and living room. I am very
excited because I love the look. We live at the shore. Would some sand
getting in be a major problem, or should I just sweep frequently. What is
the bst way to keep them clean. Do they stain? I've grown to ...
hot water radiators28 Feb 2004 15:04 GMT2
i'm stumped on this one - i have a 2 zone system. zone 2 upstairs has
6 heaters in 6 rooms. all work very well except for 1. no heat at all.
it bleeds fine but no hot water, just cold - and a good steady stream.
every once in awhile it gets heat and works fine - then nothing. I
Dulling a brass light fixture28 Feb 2004 03:36 GMT3
We have two shiny brass light fixtures on our front porch of the house
we just bought that I'm not too keen on.  I'd rather have an antique
look vs. something so shiny and new especially since it is an older
home.
Water Mark On fabric28 Feb 2004 00:35 GMT2
How would one go about removing a water mark on fabric?
Our couch had some water spilled on it and one side of the couch
cushion seems a little darker after wiping it up. Is there any way to
get a water mark out of the fabric?
vinyl siding and insulation27 Feb 2004 20:42 GMT1
I will be putting vinyl siding over a bricked portion of my house.  My
house is brick.  When the siding is installed, there is an opportunity
to place insulation batting between the firing strips.  Will this make
any difference in my utility bill?  If insulation is recommended,
bad plumbing news27 Feb 2004 17:10 GMT24
I had a plumber here today that says I have to have my main line dug up &
replaced.  He tried for over an hour to use the roto-rooter thing, and then
charged me nothing because he couldn't clear it.
So I believe him.
Replacing Door vs Pre Hung Door27 Feb 2004 15:24 GMT3
I have a steel entry door that I want to replace (its dented and ugly).
Should I be looking at a pre hung door or can I replace just the door
itself? Everything I am reading describes replacing a pre hung door. Is
there a reason why I cannot buy a new steel door and put it on ...
Looking for Light for above Deadbolt27 Feb 2004 15:19 GMT1
I'm looking for a light to put on the door above the
deadbolt.
I've seen one before one someones house, it looks just
like a brass exterior portion of a deadbolt lock, but
Cracks along wall sides.27 Feb 2004 03:50 GMT1
Hi, I just moved in my newly built house for about half year. Now I
noticed cracks along some wall sides. Please take a look at some
pictures in my photo album:

Microwave handle broke27 Feb 2004 01:01 GMT12
My built in microwave suffered a broken handle and I ask the folks here how
to replace it.  I cannot figure out by my eye how to disassemble the door
enough (or at all for that matter) to get at the screws holding the handle
on.
Mortgage Refinance Question27 Feb 2004 00:11 GMT1
I'm looking into refinancing and judging by some of the advertising I've seen,
I thought there would be some easy, streamlined programs available.  But all
I'm finding are the same old deals with points, appraisal, escrow and
everything.
