My forced air Gas heater makes a high-pitched whining noise but I'm
pretty sure that it's NOT the blower!  If anyone has heating a/c

Has anyone Tried to Recycle heat from Dryer vent?29 Jan 2004 20:15 GMT58
I imagine putting some find of a filter at the end of the vent house would
do the trick, and direct the vent into the laundry room.     Some one
mentioned that the added humidity in the room might actually make the drying
process take longer (it need dry air).   Although in my case ...

We need to refinish the hardwood floors. The sanding has been done. I
am wondering  about using wax instead of polyurethane for the
following reasons.

How to turn 'cold room' in basement to living space?29 Jan 2004 00:36 GMT2
In my cold room is a 4 inch diameter hole which I assume is there only
to let in the (cold) air. Is that the only thing that differentiates
the cold room from the rest of the basement? I dont notice anything
else.
Methane in the house?28 Jan 2004 22:33 GMT2
I found a nice little condo in Los Angeles (Miracle Mile to be exact)
and all seems nice, except the strong smell of methane (and hydrogen
sulfide) in the elevators.  You can't smell it inside the house, just
very strongly in the elevators and a little bit outside.  The entire

deny his is in the wrong.\

Hardwood floor question28 Jan 2004 19:01 GMT2
Hey everyone,
I'm putting down hardwoods in my entrance way and my living room
(which attaches to my entrance way).  The boards will run one way in my
entrace way and the other way in my living room.  My question is, how do
metal post holder28 Jan 2004 18:27 GMT5
I am planning for a fence for my back yard.  I really like the metal
fence post holders since this is new construction and despite rolling
the rock hound to get rid of rocks, there are still a lot of rocks
around. I also plan to incrementaly expand the fence toward the back
Cold room28 Jan 2004 03:35 GMT2
We have a 20x12 first-floor room with two-plus outside walls, an
unheated attic above and an unheated crawlspace below. The room is
consistently 3 to 4 degrees colder in winter than the rest of the
house.
fleas/dust mites?28 Jan 2004 00:30 GMT1
I have been getting bitten by something when I sleep. I have a pet rabbit
that stays with me occasionally, but the biting started after he left 5
months prior.
It's been occuring for six weeks, it only happens when in bed. I pulled

I have a 9 foot by 17 foot fiberglass inground pool.  What would be the best

Would the Hayward Aquabug work?

We just purchased a counter top from Lifestone.  It is 42 inch wide and a
matte like finish.  Niagra color.  It cost 500 dollars.
Did we get ripped off?
we got it at Consumers Kitchens and Baths in NY.
Ping: V27 Jan 2004 21:26 GMT2
I value your opinion, my house and the neighbours house are only 6ft apart,
my sump pump empties into this space.  the neighbour doesn't use this area
to reach his backyard, nor do I.
The problem is this, in just 1.5yrs we are having allot of desertion of soil
