house basement? (Manholes/sewer accesses and drains in garages do not

you see those engineered floor supports . they look like spindlly "l"
beams. why not make your own.  cut a groove in two  2X4's and glue  a
length of plywood in it. I would gusset them at each joint. and Gorilla
glue , too.

My wife and I  have a second home with a Burnham RS 114 oil furnace
that runs all summer to provide domestic hot water and all winter to
keep the house from freezing. In the fall and spring we shut the

Am building and need alittle advice on the range hood.  The range top is
being installed against a wall.  On the other side of the wall is the
garage.  On the 2d floor above the range is a hallway.  The ductwork will be

I have a small studio, and Im trying to come up with an economical way
of dividing my bed from the rest of the room.  I considered those
japanese curtain dividers, but they all seem too expensive.
