Home Wiring Question31 Dec 2007 07:05 GMT19
I (actually SWMBO) want to put an mid room outlet in a slab floor.  Plan is
to remove the existing flooring (tile) and trench to a nearby wall outlet.
I am assuming that current Elec. Code requires conduit in concrete.
Anything else I should be aware of?  I know the area is clear ...

Controllable Digital Picture Frames27 Dec 2007 18:25 GMT14
Digital picture frames could be very useful as annunciators if a host
computer could at least tell them "switch to picture x now".  Even
better would be the ability to download a new image and display it
immediately.  Think of it as a slow frame buffer.

Will this work for dimming 12V Halogen?18 Dec 2007 14:35 GMT10
My existing transformer/cabinet halogen 12VAC lights simply flicker
and shut off when I try to dim them with my 20 year old x-10 lamp
module and 'mini controller'.  Even though the transformer says
"dimmable" on it, maybe it's time for an upgrade.

Detecting Intruders on Your System Is Fun and Easy
Well, perhaps the title of this chapter is a slightly misleading.
Supposedly, becoming an intruder is fun and easy, too. If you want to
detect intruders, you should know what type of system resources can be
