X10 Motion Sensor14 Jan 2007 00:44 GMT1
Hi;
Not sure what I need. I want to be able to turn on the garage lights
with a remote from the car. I also want a motion sensor hooked up.
After 5 minutes of no activity, I want the motion sensor to shut off
Automation from the road...13 Jan 2007 16:34 GMT3
This guy has some fun ideas. He built internet access into his car.
Sounds like he wants to hook into a home automation setup from his
Jeep. More specifically I think he wants control over his crock pot...

HAI OMNI PRO II Light switches12 Jan 2007 19:00 GMT10
I want to control mostly lights and scenes with this HA unit.  I
already have it.   When I went to their  website they recommend upb
switches and dimmers.  Only problem is that these switches sell on
average for $80.  Are these things worth it?     The unit will
Time for HA, finally.  Thinking Insteon.  Mulling this for 20 years.  What is best?12 Jan 2007 15:09 GMT57
was waiting for CeBus, but that petered out. Meanwhile X10 kept going,
and going.  Then this Insteon system popped up, with the Powerlinc
controller that does not require an always-on PC.  Could do the PC, but
maybe that powerlinc is good enough.  What do you suggest?

IR543 and Macros12 Jan 2007 03:35 GMT2
I have a CM11a computer module with a couple macros set up in it.  I
also have the Transceiver Module (RR501) and an IR543.  I have to have
the IR543, so my Universal IR Remote can control my X10.  When I send
lights on/off/dim signals via the IR543, everything works fine.

I have googled for inverters and found modified and pure sine wave devices.
My furnace has 3/4 hp blower motor with an electronic igniter.
X-10 signal booster XTB-II in 220-240V / 50hz the success story continue.08 Jan 2007 14:27 GMT2

Will IR Illuminator work with any CCD Camera?08 Jan 2007 06:35 GMT32
I want to setup some night surveillance cameras.  I notice that some
CCD night cameras have the IR LEDS right on the camera.  Do these
cameras have anything special about them that makes them work well with
IR illumination (do they have circuitry to switch to B/W etc).  The
Question on Remote Data Access08 Jan 2007 05:14 GMT13
I have a situation where I have some sensors I want to montor manually
at my cabin (say once a week). The sensor data I am gathering is in the
form of a small file, say 5Kbytes. It is simple stuff, mainly
temperature profiles. I have a little controller (STAMP based)
Zwave  In-Wall Switch/Dimmer with RF Remote Control Capabilities08 Jan 2007 03:00 GMT1
I'm considering installing Zwave throughout, though I'm concerned that
they only seem to have a dimmer switch and not a plain old on-off
switch.  I've transitioned most of the lights in my house to compact
fluorescents and from my experience compact fluorescents don't work
speakerphone for 2.5mm headset jack05 Jan 2007 23:16 GMT1
I've searched high and low and can NOT find a speakerphone to plug into
my headset jack on my cordless phone.
Does such a device exist anywhere?  I really didn't want to spend more
than 20 or 30 dollars on it, as I could just buy a new speakerphone
Impedance Matching Volume Control05 Jan 2007 08:12 GMT4
Hello!  I have searched the archive but can't find what I am looking for.
Similar question but mine has a little extra that I can't figure out.
I want to distribute the sound to some speakers at various location in the
house and have control of the volume locally.  Using Impedance ...
