Is anyone out there taking advantage of the new Macs with intel processors to run home control and monitoring software? If so what are you running on your little power house? I am thinking about getting one to run my house.

| X10 programming from PC | 28 Sep 2006 17:37 GMT | 24 |
I'm trying to control an X10 system through a CM12U (similar to CM11) via the serial port, using my own software. I know the software is correctly talking to the serial port (because I tried it with a modem), but I'm having difficulty communicating with the CM12.

Warning: Peet Brothers weather stations not recommended. Specifically, their heated anemometer has an average life span of less than one year. I have gone through three anemoeters; the last one survived only five months after installation.

| X10: Others than x10.com doing specials? | 22 Sep 2006 17:15 GMT | 2 |
Since some of our modules died like the flies we need new ones. Plus a new controller/transmitter like the CM15A because the transceiver is turning yellow and the old CM11A has a lousy reset circuit. Anyhow, are there any other sites that have good prices, other than

| another roZetta delay | 20 Sep 2006 03:41 GMT | 1 |
Jeff Volp has decided he doesn't want to get involved with the adapter modules and other modules associated with roZetta. This complicates things and I will have to try to find another avenue for distribution. I will probably revert to my original plan to just supply printed circuit ...

| Do X10 modules degrade over time? | 18 Sep 2006 17:37 GMT | 11 |
We have a weird phenomenon, or maybe it's normal. Older X10 appliance and dimmer modules begin to become erratic. Mostly they miss the switch off command more and more. Until some day they plain don't work. It's not signal strength or anything because I can take a (newer) module ...

Anyone make a residential thermostat that has both the ability to be controlled via a remote and a PC interface? I'm replacing ours and figure now's as good a time as any to see what's new in this area.

I was at my cardiologist this AM for some tests. One of the technicians there (who I met on my last visit when she administered a nuclear stress test) has a daughter in her early 20s who has been a quadriplegic since an accident at 16. I volunteered to advise her and her daughter on ...

| Looking for a source of Alarm Screens, or related info | 15 Sep 2006 03:31 GMT | 23 |
I've heard about "Alarm Screens", which are window screens with conductive wire weaved in with the regular wire/plastic; you hook the conductive parts up to your alarm system. The idea is that if a Bad Guy tries to enter the premises via a screened-but-open window, tampering with ...
