working on for my site at www.myblueroom.com ) To see the Elephant Web
Server / Gateway with the possibility for use also as a home automation

X10 Light Switch - comes on dim08 Mar 2006 17:54 GMT3
I have some X10 light switches for my outside lights.  I'm running
ActiveHome to schedule them on and off at dusk and dawn.  From time to
time they come on in a dimmed mode.  Any thoughts why?

Decisions, decisions07 Mar 2006 03:34 GMT3
I'm building a new house.  Well, I am having one built by a builder in
a residential area, where he is building several houses.  The bottom
line is, they really don't like the future owners "working" on site.
Walking around, taking pictures, and checking up on things is ok, but
Need some help with a weird ticking noise...07 Mar 2006 03:25 GMT1
I have about four AF120 filters around my house.  They work amazing,
and in the past six months since I installed them, I have had no stray
signals at all!  I am thrilled with my X10 installation.
However, a bizarre thing started happening yesterday -- I wonder if any
ToggleLinc problem with dimming from PLC07 Mar 2006 03:05 GMT6
I just bought a Smarthome ToggleLinc 2-way dimmer with BoosterLinc
technology (23890W).  I wish to use it as a simple X10 wall switch.
The only reason I didn't use a standard X10 wall switch was because I
wanted local dim (the boosterlinc was a nice bonus too).  The problem
LED lighting07 Mar 2006 02:56 GMT14
LED lighting might be a little off topic for this newsgroup but I'm assuming
that users of this newsgroup are also the most likely to be fluent in this
area.
I am building a new house and had been hearing about LED lighting but when I

looking for a sound system to handle 8-12 zones.
Several contractors have each suggested _their_ pet system including
looking for a PULL network Mp3 Player?06 Mar 2006 05:48 GMT1
I am looking for a Network Mp3 player like the old audiotron.
The BIG difference with the audiotron was that it needed NO server software,
as it was Windows CE driven, it could find all the share-points on its own
and then PULLED the files over to play them.
whole house audio on the cheap question04 Mar 2006 23:42 GMT1

Limiting remote sensor's angle of sensitivity?03 Mar 2006 16:24 GMT2
I'm trying to catch a vandal on video. I've set up a camera, and I'm using
X10's motion sensor (MS14A) as the trigger for the VCR.
My problem is that the MS14A has a fairly wide angle of sensitivity, and if I
aim the sensor at the area where I expect the perp to be, I'll catch ...
