Thermostat suggestions for radiant + HVAC + multiple zones31 Jan 2006 19:07 GMT11
I'm building a new home with 3 floors. Each has radiant heating and
forced air HVAC. The layout looks like this:
Basement: 3 radiant heating zones + 1 HV (no AC)
1st floor: 3 radiant heating zones + 1 HVAC
Outdoor temperature sensor . . .`31 Jan 2006 15:19 GMT4
I googled it, but can't find an answer.
I've got an "Atomic Clock" (La Crosse brand) which has an outdoor
temperature sensor. It seemed to be working OK, then the outdoor temperature
stopped working. I replaced the batteries in the sensor, and the clock, and
x10 arrrrrrrrrrrrggggg31 Jan 2006 03:17 GMT9
Why did I buy this and why do I keep playing with it?  I have a myriad
of issues (how can they sell this stuff and get away with it?)  First
when the light goes on the TM751 goes off.  This is not good for
turning the light off.  Codes are E on the TM and E16 on the light.
X10 General Question30 Jan 2006 22:28 GMT18
I bought a 3 pack of socket rockets and wireless motion detectors
(MS16a) . It came with one mini transceiver (TM751).  I wanted to
control 3 lights via a separate motion detectors (none affecting any of
the others) and it seemed like this kit would do it. After reading the
remote controlled light switch30 Jan 2006 22:24 GMT2
I want to control my garage's outside light from inside my house with a
remote controlled RF light switch. The light is currently controlled with
2 -  3 way switches, one on both floors of the garage. The light was never
wired to the house, and the only way to control it now is to ...
Does a home power meter-base exist which uses BlueTooth?29 Jan 2006 21:33 GMT11
Hello again,
I was thinking about replacing my home's meter base.
If I got a fancy enough one, I could monitor it in real time.
All of the ones I've ever seen have a serial port.
Smarthome Insteon Translator29 Jan 2006 00:30 GMT17
A couple of months ago I suggested that Smarthome offer an X10 to
Insteon translator to work with "legacy" controllers like the Stargate
and sent them messages to that effect.  Happily, they have announced
just such a product that will be available soon. It will be Smarthome
X10 and compact fluorescent bulbs28 Jan 2006 03:10 GMT1
Can I use the basic lamp modules with lamps that have those new-ish
fluorescent light bulb replacement?  I'm not sure if I would need an
appliance module instead.
Any help appreciated.
Charter Communications -- mind control27 Jan 2006 23:48 GMT1
I guess they use their microwave dishes and satellites for mind
control.  The employees install surveillance devices when possible and
are the mind controllers of school children in the underground of the
communities they live in.
X10 Home Automation and Physical Security27 Jan 2006 23:42 GMT17
I am new to the automation arena and have a computer security background
so I am thinking with my "paranoid" hat on now.
Our house has a couple of external outlets for convience while doing yard
work and other activities. Looking to install some X10 devices and maybe a
Bypass GFCI using Transceiver?27 Jan 2006 20:25 GMT4
I've got some circuits that are protected by a GFCI outlet - which, after
doing some testing, seems to also mean that those circuits are protected
from receiving X10 signals.
(yes, I've tried the various other suggestions about things on the circuits
Help27 Jan 2006 13:57 GMT2
Recently when i read the formula in Discrete Time Control Systems:
E(s)*1/(1-e^(-sT))= The sum of Res[E(p)*1/(1-e^(-(s-p)T)) (p is the
pole of E(p)). How could i deduce this formula? Thanks.
Trash-Bot26 Jan 2006 21:36 GMT69
I'm thinking of making a trash can/bag transporter robot, something for
residential use, where trash is picked up once a week by the curb. This
device would be a low flat container that would hold garbage bags and
cans. When trash day comes, the robot would open a gate (gate has
Quantech Appcon kit - UK26 Jan 2006 19:20 GMT5
Some years back an outfit called Quantech, based up Durham, UK way, made a
control system called Appgen.  Ran over alarm cable in star configuration.

time.
