"Dead Zone" advice19 Jun 2004 17:15 GMT7
Greetings Group,
I've been running my current setup (Ocelot, PSC05, HCA02, about 30 lights &
equipment) for 4 years or so.  No real problems until recently.  A plug is dead, with
zero signal level being detected with my ELK meter.  No changes to my knowledge have
X10 WS467 Wall Module19 Jun 2004 04:19 GMT1
I have several of these guys, they say incandescent lamps only, but can I
use them to control ceiling fans?  If not does X10 make a switch suitable
for ceiling fans?
X10 - WS12 Decorator switch - white rockers needed19 Jun 2004 03:28 GMT1
Does anyone have any of the kits to make these switches white instead of
ivory. They came with both kits,  I used ivory and either lost or threw out
the white parts. Now I have moved and need to convert these back to white.
I need five kits in all.
Modular Connector Question18 Jun 2004 22:05 GMT3
I have been dealing with modular connectors just about since the phone
company started using them. I have always been able to crimp everything I
needed until now.  I just bought a security camera to test out in order to
buy several more if I liked it.  Everything is perfect except ...
what am I missing?17 Jun 2004 20:41 GMT1
Hi gang, simple question here.
I just installed two WS12A dimmers. I can't operate them via Active
Home, but I can operate a simple appliance module. The only way I can
communicate with my WS12A dimmers is with an IR Command Console and my
X10 being interfered with Samsung DLP TV17 Jun 2004 02:13 GMT5
I've found that my Samsung DLP TV, when on, seems to produce one heck of a
lot of interference that causes a lot of my X10 devices to stop
functioning.  I've found that if I put an isolation transformer on the TV,
it solves the problem.  Well, I'm using my home projects safety ...
AM486 Appliance Module will not control a fluorescent shop light17 Jun 2004 01:39 GMT3
I've plugged a fluorescent shop light in my garage into an AM486 3-
prong X10 Appliance Module.  I can turn it on, but once it's on, I
can't turn it off.  If I plug an incandescent lamp into the module,
it works just fine.  I've tried 3 different modules, all with the
CP290 and XA software16 Jun 2004 07:35 GMT4
Short Story:
I want to buy a copy of XA, but cannot locate the author (who
I think is Bruce Christensen) to do so.
Can anyone help in any way ?
2-Way SuperSocket16 Jun 2004 05:48 GMT1
I am a complete newbie to the world of home automation aside from the
quick experimentation that I did with a cm17a firecracker kit that the
nice folks as X-10 gave me for free.
Now that I've gotten a taste of HA, I am interested in playing around with
DS-10 Door/Window Sensor16 Jun 2004 04:59 GMT2
Can I use the ds-10 as a general purpose contact sensor? Does it work
without the security console? Does it work with the regular wireless
transceiver? How do I set the code? The reason for these questions is
that x-10 currently has 3 units for $21.99. I would like to use this
Activehome timer15 Jun 2004 07:32 GMT1
I have a basic x-10 set up with some lamp and appliance modules hooked
up to lamps. I am able to turn the lamps on/off through the active
home software but I am unable to turn them on via a timer from the
activehome software.Actually one light does turn on via the timer but
Motion Sensor Use14 Jun 2004 15:47 GMT13
I've never worked with X10 products and I would like to mount an X10  remote
motion sensor on my mailbox to count approximately the number of cars that
pass my house.  I'm very handy with a software development and if I could
get it to ping my computer once for every car I could do ...
Relay question14 Jun 2004 02:24 GMT5
I'm currently using an Ocelot + ADICON relay module to turn some amps on
and off.  There are 3 identical amps being controlled, all have
momentary pushbutton switches for power.  I've run wires in parallel
from the power switch on each amp and have those connected to one relay
