Ocelot vs 1132CU (Smarthome usb) or other?01 Jul 2004 00:33 GMT5
I am currently an X10 user (CM11A) and am looking to upgrade to a new
controller/system to obtain greater reliability.  The new USB 1132CU
from Smarthome looks great (standalone, no PC) but not sure if I
should wait (Z-wave) or go for something like the Ocelot.  I want more
Outdoor motion sensing - wired vs. wireless30 Jun 2004 23:49 GMT5
This is to control lighting. My first project, starting with turning
the lights on when the wife pulls into the driveway. However, I want
to control non-X10 light fixtures. Eventually I want to control lights
around the entire perimeter.

Buzzing X10 dimmer switch LW1030 Jun 2004 19:58 GMT1
I have two  X10 LW10U dimmer switches. They make an unacceptable
amount of noise especially when dimmed. I can hear them buzzing over
20ft away. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on how
to reduce the noise? Is there an X10 compatible product that works
wall mounting a wired crestron touchpanel.30 Jun 2004 05:39 GMT1
is it possible to wall mount a wired touchpanel.  It seems as if the
cable will get in the way.  also is there a limit to how many
touchpanels you can have with one CNMSX-AV.  And is there a difference
between the CNMSX-AV and CNMSX-PRO as far as limitations? And can
Trying to do the impossible? Mac OS X, Vantage, Lutron, Amazing Controls?30 Jun 2004 02:35 GMT1
I'm renovating a home and I've been trying to choose a lighting system

thing.
Flood light motion detector problem28 Jun 2004 23:16 GMT3
We have several 500 w flood lights with a built in motion detector.
Occasionally the flood light will turn on with motion but will not turn off.
Can anyone please tell me what component/s that may need replacing in these
motion detectors?

When I look at what companies are offering I see all kinds of RG6U: dual
shield, quad shield, some that will pass up to 3GHZ bandwidth, etc.

Outlet code for CM11a ??26 Jun 2004 10:37 GMT6
Hopefully not stupid question.  I did research prior posts.

Two-Way Extended Comms over X10 (in the UK)26 Jun 2004 07:36 GMT2
For a project I am involved with we have been thinking about using X10

I was thinking of making use of the X10 Extended Data tranmission
capabilites. Ideally the setup would be:
Decent midrange controller--Lynx10?  Other?26 Jun 2004 07:19 GMT10
I'm looking to start playing with automation.  I've heard of numerous
problems with the CM11a, so I've been looking a bit at the CM17
Firecracker (which seems pretty good but limited, a step down from the
CM11a but maybe more reliable) and heard good things about the Lynx10,
