This is to control lighting. My first project, starting with turning the lights on when the wife pulls into the driveway. However, I want to control non-X10 light fixtures. Eventually I want to control lights around the entire perimeter.

I have two X10 LW10U dimmer switches. They make an unacceptable amount of noise especially when dimmed. I can hear them buzzing over 20ft away. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on how to reduce the noise? Is there an X10 compatible product that works

I'm looking to start playing with automation. I've heard of numerous problems with the CM11a, so I've been looking a bit at the CM17 Firecracker (which seems pretty good but limited, a step down from the CM11a but maybe more reliable) and heard good things about the Lynx10,
