Bulk Cable Measuring Tools - Recommendations?07 Jan 2004 01:51 GMT1
Can anyone recommend any bulk cable measuring tools, like what they
use at home improvement stores, to measure cable as it comes off the
spool?  I have looked all over the net for one, but all I can seem to
find are electronic measuring tools.  I need something simple, with a

I want my HAI Omni-Pro to be able to cut off main Natural Gas and main
Water in the event of certain alarms (eg CO, water leak,,,).  To do
this PROPERLY, it seems the valves must have very specific features:

I've been reading posts on this newsgroup for some information about
sending and receiving over the power lines, and here's where I'm at.

conduit skirting boards?05 Jan 2004 20:18 GMT2
A while back, I tried to find a UK supplier or product to allow cable runs
in skirting boards, without success; I'm thinking of Cat5 particulary,
although anything supporting structured cabling would be good. Either wood
or PVCu would be OK.
Totally Frustrated05 Jan 2004 19:06 GMT2
I have had activehome/starter kit for two months and I have developed
a problem in last two days. I have some lamp modules and appliance
modules. They have been working great on timers for past two months.
When I got the kit I immediately added a noise filter to satellite
use multiple W800RF devices with misterhouse05 Jan 2004 12:36 GMT1
I'm a newbie in X10 (Europe-)land. I've just configure a CM11, W800RF,
Misterhouse and some lamp modules. I use SUSE 9.0. This works great.
(Thanks Bruce Winter, great program).
Because I'm often in the USA and because X10 devices are much cheaper

Photocell Porch Lamp Control?  Source?04 Jan 2004 15:54 GMT2
I am having the darndest time finding a simple gadget.  I simply want
to unscrew my porch light and screw in a photocell controller that I
can then screw the light into it.  I had one and it worked great but
for the life of me I can not find a replacement either in the stores
x-10 3-way problem (a bit different)04 Jan 2004 14:46 GMT10
I know you guys are tired of hearing about 3-way x-10 switch problems, but
here we go again.  I have 3-ways that work perfectly with the push buttons.
The problem is controlling them from a transmitter.  I can turn them on, but
not off.  This is with a wired and remote transmitter.. ...
Refurbished or brand new phone?04 Jan 2004 04:43 GMT5
I'm about to buy a new phone system (Panasonic TG2000 2-line cordless
system), and I've found I can get a "refurbished" base unit for less than
half the price of a "brand new" one. They all claim it's "still in the
Panasonic shrink wrap", direct from the factory, with full warranty.
Anyone used "SwitchLinc"?03 Jan 2004 21:40 GMT2
I'm looking to pay about $1500 to control 20 lights from 20 wall
switches.  Each switch has two buttons, and controls one light
directly and one other light remotely.  I can do this with X10 for
$1000, and I'm willing to pay $500 more to avoid problems with
