Cheap IR wired repeater?09 Jan 2004 04:43 GMT2
I'm putting in a new entertainment cabinet.  I'll have about 5 pieces
of gear in 3 cabinet bays. The bays are 16" high, 20" wide, and 20"
deep, with solid doors.  I can put a sensor behind a speaker bay grill
about 4' away.  So, I need a sensor with at least 5 emitters that can

Russound IR?09 Jan 2004 03:36 GMT4
Anyone out there using a Russound A-Bus network?
I've a question about it's handling of IR signals.
The wall keypad units have an IR pickup.  This is delivered back to the hub unit
for retransmitting to the devices.  What range of IR signals is it known to
Using my PC as remote control (New to this forum)08 Jan 2004 20:23 GMT1
I was wondering if anyone could help me with how I could use my PC to
control my remote controlled devices.
I'm planning to use a bluetooth device to connect my headset/microphone to
my PC and voice control my PC via i.e. Ultrahal assistant, from there I will
How good are Micromark Vigilantern's ?08 Jan 2004 11:19 GMT2
Can anyone tell me if the Micromark Vigilantern's are any good?
I have used other Micromark cameras, and have seen that the black and white
ones are better than the colour ones in the night due to the Infra-red, but
I don't think that the vigilantern's have the infra red LED's.
Sending video over long runs?08 Jan 2004 08:33 GMT5
Three years after renovating, I'm finally ready to start watching my
living-room video sources from my bedroom, and so it's time to start
using all that home-run wiring I paid for.  I googled this group with
varying success, but most of the posts were a few years old, so I wanted ...
PC to Home Theatre Integration08 Jan 2004 08:09 GMT1
I am in the market to make my MP3 collection accessible via my home theatre
sound system. I have looked at a few of the options out there like the
Prismiq and it's competitors. I am leaning more towards an XP Media PC.
Has anyone done this? Any opinions?

I have added Z-Wave wireless lighting control systems to our product
database.  Included are several wall switch and plug-in modules as well as
controllers.  There is also a new USB interface for HomeSeer and a HomeSeer
/ Z-Wave starter package.
Whole house audio distribution08 Jan 2004 05:52 GMT3
Sorry for the double post.... My first one somehow got listed as a
reply to a post from 1997.... anyways...
I know this has been covered widely, but I am still confused a bit on
the topic.  I have a newly constructed house that has been pre-wired
Caddx Questions08 Jan 2004 03:31 GMT36
Does anyone have a good side-by-side comparison of the NX-8 and NX-8E
Anyone have experience with the NX-590E TCP/IP module?  Is it of any use
without this "Osborne-Hoffman Network Receiver" they talk about?
What does it allow you to do?  Could it be used to remote control over ...

PC -> Multimedia center07 Jan 2004 20:47 GMT7
My new project, which will start out small for proof of concept, is to
combine some of my unused computer hardware into a complete multimedia
center capable of playing CDs, DVDs, MP3s, and movie files with audio
outputs to my stereo and composite video outputs to my television.
Weak "passthrough" from RF modulator07 Jan 2004 20:46 GMT3
I recently purchased an RF modulator ($30) to extend the output of my
DVD jukebox and cable TV signal to another room.  When viewing cable
channels with the DVD player turned off or watching a DVD (channel 3
or 4), the picture is great.  However, when watching TV channels with

Help with Active Home07 Jan 2004 03:11 GMT9
I just installed Active Home and can't get the timer to work.  If I

timer to turn the module on 5 minutes from the current time, nothing
happens in 5 minutes.  I at least expect to see the lever flip on the
