Stereo output feeding mono speakers08 Oct 2003 07:08 GMT2
Apologies if this has been covered before but I have had a search with
Google and haven’t found the answer.  I plan to use my amplifiers ‘B’
speaker output to feed two speakers that will be recessed in the ceiling.
The problem is that the two speakers will be in separate small rooms ...

Smilecam & Web cams in general07 Oct 2003 19:18 GMT3
Thinking about setting up a web cam for security and video
conferencing. Looked around the web and found a cam called Smilecam
that seems pretty good. Anyone have any experience with this? Do
brands really matter or are they all about the same? (assuming fps and
D-Link .vs. X-10 Cameras07 Oct 2003 09:35 GMT4
All,
I have a draw full of x10 cameras of all types. I'll agree with everyone
else, they are unreliable, poor quality and subject to a million different
environment variables. I have heard great things abrout D-Link cameras.
Surveillence cams and DVR07 Oct 2003 08:12 GMT1
A friend has asked me to set up two color outdoor cameras, and input
them to a DVR card to be installed into the office PC.
I'm looking for a package or components that will fit the bill.
Cameras, DVR card, software.

Is anybody knows about a simple way to convert a normally close/open
contact closure to an X10 RF signal ?

Audio Question07 Oct 2003 03:35 GMT2
I want to build a PC based announcement system that will play recorded
messages to certain speakers at certain times, using the PC audio card and
speakers.
If I put 10 or 20 speakers around, is there a way to control which speakers
Home audio pre-wiring examples/videos/plans/tutorial06 Oct 2003 04:38 GMT1

Any pointers are appreciated.
X10 FloodCam06 Oct 2003 01:53 GMT1
No Response from X10 (big surprise), hoping someone can help on this group.

As a new user of X10 products, I find the information on your web site to be
somewhat disconnected.  In other words, I can find information about
Looking for video server with tuner.05 Oct 2003 05:14 GMT1
Gentlement,
I currently have two Panasonic KX-HCM10 cameras that allow me to view
locations in my home via a live streaming feed (thus not static images
that are updated every few seconds).  I also have several surveillance
X10 Alternatives05 Oct 2003 04:37 GMT19
I am assisting my family in building a new home. We would like to
automate a number of things (Thermostat, Security, small number of
lights, etc). I have been poking around a bit on the web and there
seems to be some limitations and issues with X10, although it seems to
Audio cable - RCA? Cat5? Other?05 Oct 2003 03:39 GMT4
Getting close to finishing home-running wire at home. I've got most of
it figured out. ...Except for the audio portion.
I need to get the multi-zone output from my receiver through the walls
and into the input of a secondary amp. It's a distance of about 30
Wiring for Distributed Video05 Oct 2003 02:11 GMT3

crazy floodcams04 Oct 2003 04:08 GMT4
My Floodcams (2) turn on in daylight, or at night, then don't shut off. The
camera does shut off, but the lights stay on. I have tons of x10 stuff
working perfectly, but the floodcams are making me crazy. I tried resetting
the adjuster pots, I've been up and down the ladder so many ...
