Caddx NX8e in an OnQ Plus Enclosure26 Oct 2003 20:08 GMT2
I am getting ready to do the LV pre-wiring for a house I am building,
and was planning on use an OnQ Plus enclosure and related accessories
for network and HA, and a Caddx NX8e for alarm.
I noticed that OnQ had a Caddx mounting plate for the NX8.   Should
Selling an "automated home" ?26 Oct 2003 19:06 GMT4
Years ago I replaced the relay controls in a home furnace with a module.
Later, when selling, prospectives were wary of the module because they
didn't understand it, and HVAC contractors might not.
Has anyone sold a home with automation and had trouble with non-technical
Leviton "intellisense" vrs X10 rocker switches26 Oct 2003 02:36 GMT1
Does anyone know if the Leviton 'intellisense' is  an actual X10 upgraded
circuit or just a marketing scheme.  I ask, because I replaced X10 (non true
rocker)  a Leviton (LE-6291, non true rocker) and noticed that the switches
were pretty much identical.  I know that Leviton states ...
HAI RC80 Thermostat25 Oct 2003 18:58 GMT3
I would like to get a thermostat for my Omni Pro II.  I currently have
an Oil Furnace that uses a simple 2 conductor to the current
thermostat posisition.  The current thermostat is a basic mercury
filled tube/relay.  I also have a Cat5 from my panel to the

Looking for compact LCD/Video home automation controllers/touch panels.25 Oct 2003 04:36 GMT1
I am looking to build a house in the next year or so, and am looking
for compact wall-mounted LCD control panels that can be used for home
automation and viewing video (web cams, TV, etc). I have looked at the
Crestron line, and they seem like they will do the job, but are rather
Russound CAV6.6 vs Xantech MRC8825 Oct 2003 04:13 GMT5
I am looking for a zone amplifier / controller to run Audio and Video
to the various rooms in my home.
I have 4 zones and want to hook up about 6 sources.  Each zone will
need a controller with IR repeater.
RG-6 Question...24 Oct 2003 23:07 GMT6
I have a 85 foot run of RG-6 supplying just Video to my T.V. from my
Surround Amp.(RG-6 w/ F to RCA adapters on each end) However I am getting
"Herringbone" interference on the T.V. The picture is crystal clear but
there seems to be some sort of "Herringbone Film" on the screen that ...
PC ATX/X10 Interference Problem24 Oct 2003 19:07 GMT6
Threads already scrolled from my news server, but thought that I would
post that the third replacement atx power supply that I tried _seems_ to
have addressed the uncommanded X10 toggles and signal blockage that I
had traced to a new PC.
Minimum space to leave for Phone/Computer/AV/Home Automation closet/Alarm24 Oct 2003 17:47 GMT12
I'm rebuilding a house and trying to figure out how much space I should
leave for the wire and box closet.  I don't have a tremendous amount of
space, but also don't want to have to cram everything in and be so tight
that I'm loathe to open the door.  Ideally it wouldn't be walk-in. ...
FYI: Basshome.com is tops!24 Oct 2003 10:42 GMT4
Just to let folks know, I am having a great experience with
Basshome.com. The support he offers is truly extraordinary; we are
talking several hours of his time (as well as mine). He has really
taught me a lot and most importantly did not allow me to fail. Home
Baseband video amplifier?23 Oct 2003 19:11 GMT3
I'm looking for a baseband video amplifier, other than the $179 single
input one from SmartHome.  I'd like a strictly video amplifier, not a
broadband RF/cable amplifier.   Something designed to boost long video
only runs, like CCTV or video out from 0-10MHz or so.
RG59 for audio?23 Oct 2003 14:56 GMT1
I have a lot of rg59 coax and was thinking of using it as audio cable
for in wall speakers. Is there any reason why this wouldn't be a good
idea or will it work fine??????
