I am getting ready to do the LV pre-wiring for a house I am building, and was planning on use an OnQ Plus enclosure and related accessories for network and HA, and a Caddx NX8e for alarm. I noticed that OnQ had a Caddx mounting plate for the NX8. Should

| Selling an "automated home" ? | 26 Oct 2003 19:06 GMT | 4 |
Years ago I replaced the relay controls in a home furnace with a module. Later, when selling, prospectives were wary of the module because they didn't understand it, and HVAC contractors might not. Has anyone sold a home with automation and had trouble with non-technical

| Leviton "intellisense" vrs X10 rocker switches | 26 Oct 2003 02:36 GMT | 1 |
Does anyone know if the Leviton 'intellisense' is an actual X10 upgraded circuit or just a marketing scheme. I ask, because I replaced X10 (non true rocker) a Leviton (LE-6291, non true rocker) and noticed that the switches were pretty much identical. I know that Leviton states ...

I am looking to build a house in the next year or so, and am looking for compact wall-mounted LCD control panels that can be used for home automation and viewing video (web cams, TV, etc). I have looked at the Crestron line, and they seem like they will do the job, but are rather

| RG-6 Question... | 24 Oct 2003 23:07 GMT | 6 |
I have a 85 foot run of RG-6 supplying just Video to my T.V. from my Surround Amp.(RG-6 w/ F to RCA adapters on each end) However I am getting "Herringbone" interference on the T.V. The picture is crystal clear but there seems to be some sort of "Herringbone Film" on the screen that ...

| PC ATX/X10 Interference Problem | 24 Oct 2003 19:07 GMT | 6 |
Threads already scrolled from my news server, but thought that I would post that the third replacement atx power supply that I tried _seems_ to have addressed the uncommanded X10 toggles and signal blockage that I had traced to a new PC.

I'm rebuilding a house and trying to figure out how much space I should leave for the wire and box closet. I don't have a tremendous amount of space, but also don't want to have to cram everything in and be so tight that I'm loathe to open the door. Ideally it wouldn't be walk-in. ...

| Baseband video amplifier? | 23 Oct 2003 19:11 GMT | 3 |
I'm looking for a baseband video amplifier, other than the $179 single input one from SmartHome. I'd like a strictly video amplifier, not a broadband RF/cable amplifier. Something designed to boost long video only runs, like CCTV or video out from 0-10MHz or so.
