I took this photo last August on the grounds of Blarney castle, Co.
Cork, Ireland.
It's quite a good sized tree, I just don't have the full tree in a
possible death of far too many houseplants........30 Nov 2008 17:01 GMT4
Well, I wrote about the cold-assed back porch and the hopes that the
eastern, southern, and western sunlight would keep the cacti,
succulents and tropicals at a good temperature. I think I mentioned
that there was ice in the animal watering tray, but I attributed that

I've been warring with gophers.  Today, I caught my first one in a trap.
There's finess involved in placing the trap, and knowledge of how gophers do
their tunnels.  And those little traps would surely be nasty to get caught
in accidentally.  Will try it again on one in the front ...
Seeding now30 Nov 2008 14:26 GMT2
Had some work done around my house that included reworking some of the
planting beds. We want to make a couple smaller by planting grass in
some of the areas. Is it too late this year in Indiana?
float chargers use30 Nov 2008 14:24 GMT2
Got a question for all you good detectives out there:
I'm going to put float chargers on several garden tractors.
Any reason I can't leave the float leads hooked up to battery, with the
float charger in place, and just unhook the pigtail from external power????
Sacred Bamboo30 Nov 2008 13:07 GMT9
I like the idea of Nandina Sacred Bamboo as a fence screen. It has soft
feathery leaves.
Any thoughts about this plant. The magazine says it is non-invasive. Has
anyone got it in their yard, and if so, are you happy with it?

I've had a lot of harassment from my neighbours and am looking for a
newsgroup to post to but can't find one. Does anyone here know of one?

house plant temps29 Nov 2008 23:55 GMT6
So far the sun room has not gotten below 50.  I like to keep it 60 and
above, but we have had some really cold nights lately.  So far everybody
looks good.  One shrimp plant is growing as I watch, and I am trying to
decide whether or not to nip it off...
