I've been warring with gophers. Today, I caught my first one in a trap. There's finess involved in placing the trap, and knowledge of how gophers do their tunnels. And those little traps would surely be nasty to get caught in accidentally. Will try it again on one in the front ...

Had some work done around my house that included reworking some of the planting beds. We want to make a couple smaller by planting grass in some of the areas. Is it too late this year in Indiana?

Got a question for all you good detectives out there: I'm going to put float chargers on several garden tractors. Any reason I can't leave the float leads hooked up to battery, with the float charger in place, and just unhook the pigtail from external power????

I like the idea of Nandina Sacred Bamboo as a fence screen. It has soft feathery leaves. Any thoughts about this plant. The magazine says it is non-invasive. Has anyone got it in their yard, and if so, are you happy with it?

Just getting into gardening... our 130ft garden has been somewha neglected and we are now doing stuff too if. To start we have had cut down about 200m sq of weeds and brambles fro the back end of our garden.

So far the sun room has not gotten below 50. I like to keep it 60 and above, but we have had some really cold nights lately. So far everybody looks good. One shrimp plant is growing as I watch, and I am trying to decide whether or not to nip it off...
