A recipe08 Oct 2008 16:20 GMT3
After pulling up my courgette plants I rescued a number of little green
fruits about the size of my index finger.  So what to do with them?
Well I sliced them into rings, tossed them, and a big handful of ripe red
baby tomatoes, into an extra virgin olive oil doused pan along with 2 ...

I grow most vegetables successfully, but have real problems with
brussel sprouts, particularly those that are ready from December to
March.I try to grow the variety Wellington, and can never really get
good plants that stay healthy and robust from the planting time in
Tree identification?07 Oct 2008 18:07 GMT13
I have a little "book" for identifying trees. No problem with trees very
common to the midwest US, i.e. oak, maple, sycamore.
Next door is a medium-size tree with palmate leaves which have 3 points
each. Seed is helicopter-type, fall in the spring.

Did you get an email from me a couple of days ago about that 'lost'
Passiflora caponi John Innes?  Apparently, it is just that, according to the
JIC, although you and Ray always knew that!  I've had a little email trouble
from time to time so wonder if that piece of horticultural ...

Actually just one -  a white Siberian iris.  But I might hit a few places
for end of season bargains.

Dont let the politicians get off the hook, real cause of Econ Crisis07 Oct 2008 14:50 GMT25
An old trick of politicians to blame everybody else for the problems
THEY created. They always blame the usual suspects: fat cats on wall
street because they are easy targets. Nobody likes the fat cats. The
fat cats are partially to blame BUT most of the blame goes back to the
broken standard rose07 Oct 2008 12:54 GMT3

Water pump07 Oct 2008 11:22 GMT3
This is a bit off-topic but...
I bought a property that has a well (2.6m diameter) and I am buying a
submersible pump. I have a system of 5 impulse sprinklers, the most
distant one is about 60 meters and it is not working very well with
Why are the mosquitoes more rampant after August?07 Oct 2008 07:45 GMT1
Dear Everyone:
I live in southern Virginia, and I frequently walk along a trail
through a swampy area beside the Chesapeake Bay. From April to August,
I seldom notice mosquitoes. But beginning from late September, the
Lemon pest/disease07 Oct 2008 07:38 GMT5
I just moved into a new flat in Canberra, Australia. There's a lemon
tree in the garden, which is nice, but it's not in the best of health.
Alot of the leafs look chlorotic. Some have brown patches and holes.
Some of the fruit has whiteish stuff on it. I've seen a couple of
Concolor Fir dropping needles07 Oct 2008 00:42 GMT5
I work for a landscaping company in the nursery & one of the Concolor
Fir's has needles turning brown & dropping. I've been googling it & so
far I've read that old needles will drop... These Fir's are about 12
ft tall if not a little taller & established in the ground. Is it a

nears, some new.
Today I have seen a mouse in my garden.
Will mice unearth and eat the bulbs?
