| fuchsia question | 13 Oct 2008 21:27 GMT | 16 |
A friend just brought me a hardy fuchsia "Lady bothby" a kind of a climber he said. The plant is still small like 30cm. I want to plant this fuchsia under a tree where it still gets some sun. Now the question is: should I plant it now or wait for spring?

I'm sure I've got some that lean away from the sun... but others appear to lean into it. Is there an answer to this? To be honest, it's a bit of a problem with my large cacti as I need them

| Bats | 13 Oct 2008 00:07 GMT | 5 |
They're dashing about all over the place. Isn't this rather later than usual? We've had warm days and chilly nights for a while now and there have been lots of mozzies and gnats about. Could it be they're making up for lost feeding time, due to the cold, wet summer? I may be ...

Does anyone know of any crosses that have used Jiminy Cricket as a parent? It's been blooming very nicely for me for a couple of years, even though I don't have a greenhouse and just have it under lights-- and outside over the summer. I'd think they might be interesting if

| Rhubarb | 12 Oct 2008 21:25 GMT | 5 |
I believe there is a ruling or an old wives' tale that says you must not pick and eat your rhubarb after a certain date during the summer. Anyone know if this is the case, and if so why, and what the date is?

| What does 50% soil moisture content actually mean? | 12 Oct 2008 09:39 GMT | 6 |
Apologies for what may be a dumb and trivial question and I'm not sure if this is the best group to query, but I'm wondering what a particular soil moisture content actually means and how to achieve it under controlled conditions. For example, if I have 100ml of a given
