rabbits anyone?18 Oct 2008 13:53 GMT8
On tonight's ABC gardening program they showed a rabbit cage atop
a worm farm.  The rabbit hutch had a netting floor so that the
droppings would fall straight through onto the worm farm below.
All fine and good, so it would seem.
apple blossoms in October18 Oct 2008 06:55 GMT5
I have two apple trees which were planted in my yard, one in front
other in back, by a friend. They usually bloom about the same time in
early spring, but in the two springs they have lived here, each has
had only a few blossoms. Now it is  October and they are coming out

Paper etc pots18 Oct 2008 03:05 GMT2
What I am finding as I trawl around sites for making paper pots is
that there is a considerable variation in thicknesses - obviously the
thicker would take longer to break down.
David (?) originally answered me with the information on them - I

Hedychiums as bog plants?17 Oct 2008 18:07 GMT4
Many years ago I visited the botanic gardens at Oxford University. In
one of their ?Victorian glasshouses they had a water garden display,
with a low island in the middle. Growing luxuriously on this island
were, IIRC, 'ginger lilies', but I'm not sure what species.

Some Citrus questions17 Oct 2008 14:38 GMT11
I have just rescued two from being dumped, I have no idea what citrus
they are as the person doing the dumping was not the grower/owner. They
stand around 7' and are in very large heavy pots and have clearly been
outside for years, most of the dead and damaged parts I had to trim ...
Another citrus questions17 Oct 2008 10:11 GMT2
I brought a small single stemmed lemon plant from Wilkos and kept it indoors
until summer on the window seal.  This year it has put on a lot of growth
and I cannot put it back on the window that I had it.  I read up on them and
it says that they are ok in a conservatory over ...

QUESTION: “We live in a small neighborhood of stone houses built in
the late 1920's.  Moving into a stone house was a dream come true.
However, we quickly found out that the water table in the area is
quite high, and the soil is mostly clay.
Lilly identification and advice please17 Oct 2008 00:13 GMT3
Anyone recognise this lilly variety from the leaves?
It only grows to around a foot high but has lovely leaves.
The flowers are typical lilly shape in white, but its too late to
photograph any flowers at this time of year.

Berry bushes16 Oct 2008 20:34 GMT1
A previous owner planted in a helter skelter pattern.  I'd like to
rearrange.  Do berries take to being moved very well?  They are not large at
all, being about two feet tall and wide.
