Possible new allotments18 Sep 2008 13:05 GMT13
A neighbour suggested to the local councillor on a walkabout that we

people on this street who're interested in having an allotment at

Calling the Cornish18 Sep 2008 08:47 GMT5
My Tibouchina semidecandra had been a lot happier this summer than
most, and has really come into its own as the chill has started.
While it is tender, I get the impression that it doesn't like
temperatures of above 15 Celsius.  It certainly likes mist, and
Cassia Alata - Candelabra18 Sep 2008 03:21 GMT2
Have googled and read about this beautiful bush (saw in a neighborhood
in full bloom and asked owner what it was).
Anybody have any negative words to say about it?  I know enough to
gather those seed pods before they burst and self-sow.

Anyone identify this (wild?) flower/weed17 Sep 2008 23:19 GMT16
Just found this small flower growing in a corner of my garden and wondered
what it was. I'm not a gardener so have no idea - it looks like a wild
flower/weed but has very pretty little white flowers that look like a
miniature version of the ladies cap from the Dutch national ...

Is there honey still for tea?17 Sep 2008 15:47 GMT18
Apparently stores are going to run out of British honey by Christmas as
there is such a shortage of honey bees now.  Bad news for honey-lovers and
for gardeners.  ;-(

My capsicum. Again.17 Sep 2008 11:43 GMT2
I was astonished to see, after a half day of sunshine on Saturday, that
about half of the skin of some of the round fruits was a brilliant,
beautiful, cherry red - not orangey. The long thinner ones are going from
green to yellow.
