tree id please03 Sep 2008 02:56 GMT7
I was at a zoo in Oregon recently and saw a tree that I want to know
more about.  Can you tell me what kind of tree it is?  I have a
picture of it here http://home.comcast.net/~lyddie/whattree.htm .  If
the link doesn't work, it had soft, fuzzy pink flower poofs all over
spray-on weed killer03 Sep 2008 02:35 GMT5
Many of your spray-on weed killers cost somewhere around $3-$4/gal .
Looking at 20 gal required.
Is there any kind of spray-on weed killer that is effective at less cost per
gallon?

Chilli flower buds02 Sep 2008 21:43 GMT4
Hmm, the flower buds on my dorset naga chilli plant are shrivelling up and
falling off the plant before they've got anywhere near opening. I know the
two main reasons for flowers falling off are non-pollination (which isn't
the case as they haven't even opened) and lack of ...

Mary, I saw some absolutely gorgeous bantams
at an agricultural show on Saturday - Silver Seabrights.
The young lad who was showing them took 1st,

Clematis newbie question02 Sep 2008 21:15 GMT3
This question may sound naive but I can't find this information in three

Apple Tree02 Sep 2008 16:26 GMT2
For some years a large established eating apple tree in my garden has
stopped fruiting. I suspect is not self fertile and it stopped fruiting when
a neighbour cut down their tree. I've no idea what type of tree I have. Any
rule for picking a pollinator in this situation?
Where to start?02 Sep 2008 16:17 GMT7
I am new to growing rose's, and am a bit bewildered as where to start. I

I live in south wales in the UK, my garden soil, is quite good, I have grown
tomato's, asters, marigolds, lupins, gladioli, heathers, tulips to ...
The usual autumn 'things flowering at the wrong time of year' thread02 Sep 2008 13:53 GMT6
I thought I'd start the usual autumn 'things flowering at the wrong time
of year' thread. (Actually, I know someone has already started that with
the twice-flowering Magnolia).
Anyway:

Fall garden, etc.02 Sep 2008 06:05 GMT2
The missus had me spending Saturday trying for a better crop of tomatoes
than we had this blow torch of a summer. Maybe the global warming will
make maters a winter crop around here ;-)
Selection of starters was pretty sparse - I bumped into a guy at Home

the moss from the path. Rather than take this all to the tip I'v
When should my tree start producing fruit?02 Sep 2008 05:14 GMT1
I planted a grafted tree (of nectarine, peach and plum) in my back
yard in approximately March last year.
(I'm in Australia).
In Winter the tree lost all its leaves and produced beautiful flowers,
